Whoopi Goldberg Slams Suzanne Somers Over Her Statements “Chemo Killed Patrick Swayze”
Posted on 24. Sep, 2009 by CSS.

Whoopi Goldberg is firing back at Three’s Company star Suzanne Somers for comments the actress made alleging the chemotherapy Patrick Swayze used to treat his pancreatic cancer ultimately killed him.
The Dirty Dancing star died last week after a nearly two year battle with the disease. Shortly after, Somers came under fire for comments she made about Swayze in an interview with Toronto’s National Post.
“They took this beautiful man and they basically put poison in him,” Somers told National Post columnist Shinan Govani. “Why couldn’t they have built him up nutritionally and gotten rid of the toxins in his body?”
Somers – who used holistic methods to treat her breast cancer in 2001 – responded to incident on her website Monday.
“In a casual conversation at a private party (with someone who never identified himself as a reporter) at the Toronto Film Festival last week, I was asked about this beloved actor. It was never my intention to make an official statement about his passing,” Suzanne wrote. “I was not informed or aware I was being interviewed. I would never have been so insensitive as to offer a public statement so close to his untimely passing. I sincerely apologize if my comment has caused any additional pain to his family during this difficult time. I send my deepest condolences for their loss.”
The public rebuttal hasn’t stopped Whoopi from taking Suzanne to task over her remarks.
“In case she doesn’t know, Patrick did everything and went everywhere to try and stay healthy as long as he could,” The View co-host said of her Ghost co-star on Wednesday. “That he’s been gone a week and this statement came out is bad timing and bad taste and Suzanne, you know better,” Whoopi continued. “And I’m not sure that’s not what you meant to do, but you should have thought about it”

Whoopi Goldberg Fear Of Flying
Posted on 01. Apr, 2009 by CSS.
Whoopi Goldberg will undergo therapy to cure her fear of flying on live TV.
The actress hasn’t flown for a decade, but an upcoming business commitment in London
means she has to step on a plane once again.
Whoopi is dreading the experience.
The Oscar-winning Ghost star will undergo a special course on The View courtesy of Virgin Atlantic boss Sir Richard Branson, on Wednesday.
The therapy will include putting her in a flight simulator to help conquer her fears.
“I am sweating a lot. My mind is doing bad stuff to me….I am not a good flyer. I don’t like it. I don’t wanna do it.”
I’ve never personally had a problem flying- or even a fear of it. I actually have always really loved it, but over the past year with all the plane crashes that have happened – I have to admit the fear has seeped into my Psyche a bit! Good luck Whoopi!

The Ladies Of 'The View' Looking To Score Major Raise!
Posted on 22. Mar, 2009 by CSS.

There is a long list of things I’d rather do than watch the shrieking ladies of “The View.” Gum surgery, Chinese water torture, a Celine Dion concert…the list goes on and on. But plenty of other people are watching the show, because its ratings are higher than ever. That’s why the co-hosts of the show – Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sherri Shepherd and Elisabeth Hasselbeck – are asking for a raise. And of course, they’re going straight to the show’s executive producer and co-star, Barbara Walters, with their demands.
Ratings for “The View” have gone through the roof- and so have the co-hosts’ salary demands!
Although the show’s boss Barbara Walters is thrilled that her 12-year-old production is on the rise, set insiders tell The Enquirer that she’s suddenly found herself with “a mutiny on her hands.” Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sherri Shepherd and Elisabeth Hasselbeck all believe they should be generously rewarded for the newfound success.
Demands from the stars’ agents began pouring into Barbara’s office in early March when Nielsen statistics reported “The View” – which often ranked 10th or lower among daytime programs – climbed to No. 2 among women aged 18-49, says the insider.
The sudden ratings boom is being attributed to Barbara’s decision to expand the “hot topics” segment, about the day’s headlines, which now accounts for half the show. “The View” is now enjoying its most-watched season ever, averaging 4.2 million viewers – up from 2.5 million a year ago.
“Barbara should be beaming because of the show’s recent success, but she’s furious that the other women have been pestering her for a bigger piece of the pie,” says the insider.
“Barbara thinks their new salary demands are outrageous – some are asking for several million dollars – and she told one confidant, “They should all be ashamed of themselves – I’ve never seen such a greedier bunch.’”
-From The National Enquirer
Oh, come on. As long as Barbara’s been around at ABC, I’m sure she’s seen a greedier bunch. And I’m sure Barbara is making a nice chunk of change as the show’s executive producer.
Why wouldn’t she do the smart thing and keep her co-stars happy? As much as I can’t stand the show, they must be doing something to appeal to the viewers who like them. I suppose some people actually enjoy watching five women sitting around a table screaming and talking over each other. But the chemistry – or, more accurately, the tension – between the co-hosts must be what’s getting the ratings.
Or does Barbara think everyone tunes in to watch her?

Sherri Shepherd Finally Getting The Axe From ABC?!?
Posted on 14. Feb, 2009 by CSS.

As Whoopi would say, “Sherri, you in danger, girl!”
In another sign of the deepening recession, cash-strapped ABC execs are reportedly looking to let go of one of the five co-hosts on its popular daytime chat-fest The View, and we hear ditsy co-host Sherri Shepherd is well on her way to becoming the next Star Jones.
Sherri’s name is tops on a list of View chatterboxes who could be slammed with a pink slip in coming weeks because she hasn’t contributed too much in her 17 months on the Emmy-winning talk show, network insiders revealed to Star Magazine this week.
Hey, hey, hey. Now that’s not fair. Sherri’s contributed plenty since joining the cast of The View. Take September 2007 for instance, when the comedienne stated–with a straight face might we add–that she isn’t sure whether the Earth is round or flat. Or how about the time that she frantically worried that allowing her son, Jeffrey, to play with dolls would turn the toddler into a homosexual as an adult? Let us not forget that whole “Jesus Predates Everything” Brouhaha. Tell us those gems don’t come in handy when you need a few chuckles. Sherri brings on the LOLs.
How much more can a girl contribute?!
