Susan Boyle turned down a chance to meet President Barack Obama.

The Britain’s Got Talent singing sensation was invited to the White House Correspondents’, a star-studded $200-a-ticket black-tie event that supports the needy and helps fund journalism scholarships. Saturday night’s affair at the Washington Hilton welcomed such celebs as Ashton Kutcher, Demi Moore, Stephen Spielberg –but Susan had to say no.

A rep for the reality competition says Susan “was invited by numerous networks… to be a guest at the event,” but that show rules prevented her from attending.

“None of the acts are allowed to go [overseas] for any events until the show is over so we had to decline on her behalf,” the rep said.

The 48-year-old Scottish church volunteer wowed the world with her jaw-dropping performance of the Les Misérables song “I Dreamed a Dream” on the UK talent show last month.

A Susan source tells News of the World: “She was shocked and thrilled by the invite…She knows she would have been incredibly nervous if she’d gone. But her dream is to sing for President Obama one day. She loves him and thinks he is already a terrific president.”

Susan Boyle will appear on The Oprah Winfrey Show today, May 11.

Britain’s Got Talent’s Susan Boyle — now 47 — shows off her angelic voice at age 22 in this 25-year-old, newly-unearthed video!

The Internet singing sensation, who shot to worldwide fame after appearing on the UK talent competition last month, was taped delighting a room full of football fans in a local karoake club with her renditions of Barbra Streisand’s “The Way We Were” and “I Don’t Know How to Love Him” from the musical Jesus Christ Superstar.

“I can remember that she was a shy young girl, but also very attractive back then – she turned a few heads when she came into the club,” Gerry McGuinness, 61, who was in attendence that night, tells Scotland’s Daily Record of Susan’s performance.

Britain’s Got Talent judge Simon Cowell has advised burgeoning Scottish star Susan Boyle to “get herself together” if she wants to win this year’s competition.

The biting music critic says he’s fed up with stories about 47-year-old Boyle’s bushy eyebrows and has urged the “Hairy Angel” to concentrate on winning the talent competition rather than on the international media circus surrounding her audition.

“She has got four weeks to prepare for the biggest night of her life, and she has got to sing better than she sang before with all those expectations on her,” Simon told The Telegraph on Friday.

“But it could all go horribly wrong for her because there are so many other distractions,” he added. “Get yourself together sweetheart for the big one – the semi-final. Shut the door, choose the right song and come back as who you are, not who you want to be.”

Sounds like sound advice!

Simon Cowell is developing a motion picture Susan Boyle’s stunning rise to fame after her performance of “I Dreamed A Dream” on the third season of Britain’s Got Talent.

The 47-year-old Scottish singer has successfully captured the imagination of millions of fans around the world and the music mogul can hardly wait to start cashing in on her popularity, new reports claim.

A source tells Britain’s Star: “Simon can see the business potential in Susan. He’s not only seeing album deals in the UK and the States but also movie and merchandising.”

“It would follow her dream of getting on the show and then, of course, she would have to win.”

“But he would want the movie to be based around the Britain’s Got Talent brand rather than Susan’s life.”

On Tuesday, Susan admitted that she does need a bit of a makeover where her clothes and looks are concerned.

“I will need to sort out my dress sense and my weight. It wasn’t until I saw myself on TV that I realized how frumpy I was,” she told reporters as she left her small home for a trip to the hairdresser.

“It’s not a big thing – it doesn’t worry me too much – but I will be doing a bit more exercise to help me sort it out. When there is this much attention on you, you have to plan what you wear every day and look your best.”

“I just want to look nice, and smart,” she added

Britain’s Got Talent star Susan Boyle has entered talks for a possible recording contract with executives at Sony BMG.

The 47-year-old church worker became an instant internet sensation after her audition on the talent series was broadcast on Britain’s ITV1 earlier this month.

The video of Susan performing “I Dreamed A Dream” in hopes of earning a spot on this season’s edition of Britain’s Got Talent is just 18 million views short of replacing “The Evolution of Dance” as the Most Watched YouTube Video Ever.

Susan is discussing album plans with bosses at Sony BMG -including Simon Cowell -The Mirror claims. And the aspiring singer will be signed to the label regardless of where she finishes in the competition.

In fact, Simon is reportedly already putting together a duets album, featuring Susan harmonizing with some of the top names in music, The Chicago Sun-Times claimed in a report on Tuesday. According to The Sun-Times, the acid-tongued music mogul is hoping to pair Susan’s angelic voice with that of portly powerhouse Paul Potts, who sang his way to victory on Season 2 of Britain’s Got Talent, with the help of his trademark operatic vocals.

“I can’t comment on that at the moment. Simon’s a good man. I trust him and I’d be happy to work for him,” Susan told reporters when asked about a possible recording contract. Simon is also downplaying the reports, simply saying, “It’s difficult to say at this stage because I think we’ve got to treat it as it is, which is a competition.”

“There are some acts that you haven’t seen yet, it’s not quite the one horse race you are going to think this is,” he adds.
