Suri Cruise Headed To New Village Academy Scientology School

Suri’s going to school…Scientology school that is. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are sending their daughter Suri to the Scientology-funded institution launched by pals Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith in 2008.
For $12,000 a year, The Church of Scientology’s New Village Academy in Los Angeles features a staff of scientologists training students in the study of technology.
A informant with Britain’s Daily Mail says: “The children have a lot of responsibilities from a very young age. The school is particularly strict about nutrition, demanding a low-carb, low-sodium and low-sugar organic diet. Katie is understandably a little anxious about being separated from Suri.”
Umm… their daughter is only 3! I know Tom Cruise is in this massive hurry to create this little super genius cruisebot, but it all just seems really intense for a child so young!

Katie Holmes Is Reportedly Choosing Family Over Career

Every week, Katie Holmes is one of two things, according to the tabloids: she’s either already knocked up, or she’s refusing to grant Tom his desire for another child. This week, has thrown us a curve ball by reporting that Katie was previously against the prospect of another child, but that she is now considering the possibility.
Katie Holmes was glowing as she had a late afternoon lunch with her daughter, Suri, at Cristoni Pizzeria in Beverly Hills. While Suri nibbled on pasta bolognese and a slice of cheese pizza, Katie chatted on her cell phone with a friend – and broke some very big news.
“She said, ‘I’ll be pregnant this year for sure,’” Sokol Aliaj, who was sitting next to Katie, tells In Touch. Then she said, “Tom can’t wait!”
Although a rep denies the story, as Tom and Katie prepare for Suri’s third birthday on April 18, they had double reason to celebrate. According to a close source, Katie couldn’t decide if she wanted to focus on her career or her family, but finally came to the conclusion that she was ready to add to their family.
“It’s like a huge weight has been lifted from Katie’s shoulders,” the source says. “She thought she would focus on acting for a few years, but she really loves being a mom.”
After Katie wed Tom in 2006, her career slowed a bit. But she recently completed a successful run on Broadway in All My Sons and was eager to keep up the momentum. She was so happy being onstage, an insider explains. Tom knew that Katie was excited about working on her new movie, The Extra Man, but he had a long talk with her and told her she might regret not being a stay-at-home mom someday. “He said acting will always be there for her some day, but she’d never get this time back,” the source adds. “And how awful it would be if she spends all her time working now that Suri’s at such a magical age. Suddenly, they’re older and they don’t need you anymore.”

Suri Cruise $1 Million Fine Arts Classes

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are forking over fistfuls of cash–$1 million to be exact–on foreign language, art, and dance classes for their two-year-old daughter Suri.
“She is learning French and Spanish and has a tutor she sees once a week…..Piano and violin lessons are on the to-do list.”
The Valkyrie actor and his wife want Suri – who turns three on April 18 – to have a well-rounded upbringing and have committed themselves to grooming the tot to become the world’s next great child prodigy.
“Suri has shown a real love of dancing, so Tom and Katie are encouraging her as much as possible. She practices ballet, tap and modern dance for hours, nearly every day. She also has private gymnastics lessons and is learning soccer.”
A source close to the Cruises tells The National Enquirer: ‘It doesn’t matter what Suri is doing, Tom wants her to be able to do it better than any other child. All parents think their kids are special, but Tom and Katie firmly believe Suri is gifted.”
“….Tom and Katie just have to find time in Suri’s busy schedule!”
A few things come to mind when I read this story… One, it’s certainly nice to see that not everyone is being affected by the current state of the economy! Two, how in the world do Tom’s other two children feel about all this attention on Suri- wouldn’t it make them feel inadequate that they didn’t get that type of attention??

Suri Cruise: Yoga All Star

Suri’s got a new favorite pastime–yoga!
With the help of mom Katie Holmes–and a Kathy Smith yoga DVD–2-year-old Suri Cruise is working on mastering the basics of the ancient art.
Star Magazine tattles report: “Katie enrolled Suri in a yoga class in L.A. in the summer, and Suri loved it.”
“She took to it quickly and kept asking to do more,” a source adds. “Katie likes yoga because it helps deal with stress. Now they can do it together.”
So they have Suri doing Yoga and they’ve built her a gym for gymnastics… what are they grooming little Suri to be???

Katie Holmes Spent More Than $14 Million In Six Months.

Katie Holmes is single-handedly propping up New York City’s economy, according to Page Six. Despite a dismal real estate market and poor retail sales, Katie’s been shopping her heart out. In fact from the way it’s described, it sounds like she doesn’t have any other hobbies. Except, perhaps, running from body thetans.
As well as regularly frequenting the city’s best restaurants, Holmes is often photographed with her daughter Suri carrying purchases from some of New York’s most expensive shops. The New York Post’s Page Six magazine estimates that, mainly due to her real estate purchases, she has spent more than $14 million (£9.6 million) since being in the city.
“While ordinary city dwellers are cutting back, Mrs Cruise has been valiantly doing her bit to boost our economy,” the magazine said. “We tally up a conservative estimate of her 24-week NYC spending spree, and crown her Manhattan’s Most Valued Shopper.” Holmes has reportedly spent a reported $13,987 (£9,600) on child care and taking Suri out over the last six months
According to the publication, she and Cruise have bought three new apartments in the building where he has owned his home since 1985. A spokesperson for Cruise has denied the purchases but real estate executive Barbara Corcoran claims they bought a trio of lofts last year. The magazine says a similar, three-bedroom home on the same street is on the market for $4.8 million, (£3.3 million) and calculates that the Cruises would have spent $14.4 million (£10 million) on their apartments as a result.
Meanwhile the couple is reported to have spent an additional $7,000 (£4,800) on installing gym equipment in their home. The publication also claims that Holmes, 30, and Cruise, 46, have spent an estimated $7,315 (£5,000) on dining out at top restaurants such as brasserie Balthazar, and sushi restaurant Nobu and more than $17,000 (£11,700) on clothes for Holmes and Suri from shops like Hermes and Bonpoint.

Forbes Top Ten Celebs On Tabloid Covers This Year!

Forbes took a hard look at tabloid covers from June/07 – June/08 to anylize what sells. I really liked this b/c it let me know that even though we all claim to simply loathe and ignore Heidi from ‘The Hills’, we’re clearly clammering to see more of her. She’s pretty much America’s dirty secret.
10. Owen Wilson
Like Ledger, Wilson covers–focused on his reported suicide attempt–benefited from their tragic news angle. Similarly working in his favor: fan adoration. The comedic actor placed third in likability.
9. Heidi Montag
The Hills vixen may be lacking fans–the only cover subject less likable than Montag is Britney Spears–but she can push magazines. Her four solo covers landed her at No. 6 in the cover sales category.
8. Shiloh Jolie Pitt
Though Shiloh has her kiddie rival Suri beat when it comes to likability, Brangelina’s biological offspring was outranked in both her number of covers and cover sales.
7. Suri Cruise
The adorable tot may not have much to say, but she’s a master at selling magazines. At just 2-and-a-half years old, Cruise has snagged adoring fans and interested readers. In fact, she outperforms even her parents, A-listers Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, on the newsstand.
6. Jessica Simpson
While she’s hardly the fan favorite Jennifer Aniston is–in fact, the pop-star-turned-country-crooner ranks 14th in the likability category–Simpson ranked fourth in cover sales, thanks to the her tumultuous relationship with Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo
5. Nicole Richie
The pint-sized party-girl-turned-protective-mom has proved her prowess at the newsstand. Richie lands third in the cover sales category, behind Jamie Lynn Spears and Angelina Jolie. But much like the younger Spears sister, her low likability score drags her down.
4. Jamie Lynn Spears
Though she was hardly a tabloid staple before announcing her pregnancy, a then 16-year-old Spears captivated the nation with her news. Her five covers landed her first in the cover sales category. Unfortunately, the Nickelodeon star lagged in the likability category, where she placed an unimpressive 16th.
3. Heath Ledger
It was Ledger’s mysterious and all-too-early death that made him front-cover news–something he hadn’t been prior to his passing. And while male cover subjects traditionally sell fewer copies than female ones, due to their lack of relatability for the heavily female reader base (other cover subjects Brad Pitt and Matthew McConaughey didn’t make the cut), the idea of a talent like Ledger dying so young left readers grasping for answers–and buying magazines in search of them.
2. Jennifer Aniston
Aniston has once again proved highly appealing, this time landing second on our list (she topped it last year). In fact, with the exception of Heath Ledger, whose life was cut tragically short earlier this year, Aniston is the most-liked cover model of the year. And thanks to her ever-tumultuous love life, the former Friends star had eight covers all to herself during the year period.
1. Angelina Jolie
Be it her humanitarian efforts or her ever-expanding brood, Jolie has little trouble garnering interest–and, for that matter, landing covers. In fact, she graced nearly 30 in the past year, ranking second behind Britney Spears in the cover category. She also places second in cover sales, this time behind another Spears: Britney’s teenage sister, new mother Jamie Lynn.
-I’m guessing Lauren Conrad is pissed right about now….
