Sacha Baron Cohen To Make Guest Appearance On “The Simpsons”
Posted on 22. Sep, 2009 by CSS.
The man behind the comic alter egos Borat and Bruno is heading to Springfield.
Sacha Baron Cohen will lend his voice to a character on an upcoming episode of The Simpsons, series executive producer Al Jean told Entertainment Weekly on Friday.
Cohen will play a “pretty angry but funny” Israeli tour guide who encounters The Simpsons when they take a trip to the Holy Land with their church group. The episode, entitled “The Greatest Story Ever D’ohed,” will also feature Homer believing he’s the messiah.
“He’s trying to get Marge to give him good grades on the comment card,” Jean tells EW. “And she goes, ‘You people are pushy,’ and he goes, ‘What do you mean, ‘you people’? You try having Syria for a neighbour! What do you have — Canada?’”
“The Christians, the Jews and Muslims are united in that they all get mad at Homer. It’s the only thing they can agree on.”
Sacha Baron Cohen guest stars on The Simpsons this March.

Sacha Baron Cohen Retiring "Bruno"
Posted on 22. Jul, 2009 by CSS.

The British prankster, 37, has decided it is time to send Bruno to bed after figuring out he that can no longer get away with his outrageous set-ups because too many people recognize the Austrian fashionista.
Cohen will officially bid farewell to the controversial character once he has finished promoting the movie.
He says, “It’s wonderful that the films are successful, but every new person who sees the movie is one less person I can be Borat or Bruno with again, so finishing a movie means having to say goodbye. Admitting that you’re never going to play the character again is like saying goodbye to a loved one. And that’s hard.”

Eminem Gets Pranked By Bruno (Sacha Baron Cohen) MTV Movie Awards 2009
Posted on 01. Jun, 2009 by CSS.

Eminem stormed out of the MTV Movie Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday night after Bruno star Sacha Baron Cohen’s ass landed in his lap — literally!
The rapper had just finished performing a medley of tracks from his new album Relapse and was sitting in the audience when Cohen’s gay alter ego, Bruno, flew overhead in a dove outfit, chanting, “Ich bin Bruno. Ich bin dove of peace –” baring his naked backside, he landed upside down on rapper Eminem’s lap.
“Are you serious? Are you f***in’ serious?” Em screamed as his entourage violently tried to free him. “Yo, get this motherf***er off me, man!”
“Is the real Slim Shady about to stand up?” Sacha continued to joke as the audience laughed.
Eminem and his entourage left their seats and walked out of the show. Well…he has a reputation for being nasty and mean-spirited to others — if you’re going to dish it out, you have to know how to take it.

Sacha Baron Cohen's "BRUNO" Trailer:
Posted on 03. Apr, 2009 by CSS.
From the producers of the 2006 hit Borat, Bruno hits theaters July 10. The trailer for this summer’s surefire blockbuster comedy debuted on Myspace Thursday afternoon–and it was the second time in less than a week that the film hit the news.
Bruno found itself at the center of controversy this week when it was revealed that the Motion Picture Association of America gave the film the undesirable NC-17 rating after deeming several of the scenes too raunchy for anyone under 17.

'Bruno' Gets NC-17 Rating!
Posted on 30. Mar, 2009 by CSS.

Sacha Baron Cohen’s new comedy Bruno, set to debut on the big screen in July, has been given an NC-17 rating on its first submission to the Motion Picture Association of America, according to TheWrap.com.
Reporter Sharon Waxman claims the theatrical debut of Cohen’s flamboyant hairstylist failed to land an R-rating due to the presence of numerous over-the-top sexual scenerios that the ratings board takes objection with–including one in which the star appears to be engaging in anal sex with another man.
A Universal spokesman confirmed that the film did not get the R rating, but says that it is still “early” in the process.
This type of thing happens to movies pushing the envelope. Same thing happened to Kevin Smith last year with, Zack & Miri Make A Porno, he just had to go back and rework it! My guess is when Bruno hits dvd stands there will be a vulgar uncut version for everyone to see.

Sacha Baron Cohen Crashes Anti-Gay Rally!
Posted on 03. Nov, 2008 by CSS.
The Associated Press Reports that comedian Sacha Baron Cohen, posing as the fictional character Bruno, attended a rally supporting a ban on gay marriage in California. Bruno, a gay Eu
ropean fashion designer and electronic music reporter, is another one of Cohen’s creations from his Home Box office comedy series, “Da Ali G Show,” which also gave rise to his hugely popular character, Borat.
Cohen’s Bruno, like Borat, will soon be the central character in his own feature length film. Cohen likely will follow the formula that made Borat’s feature film a huge success, a fictional narrative interspersed with footage of Cohen in character as he spontaneously interacts with people unaware of the premise.
Cohen’s commitment to his craft has led to a new look for Bruno. Unlike the Bruno with short, cropped black hair in the Ali G show (remarkable similar to both Borat and G), the photos from the rally and from other events Cohen crashed as Bruno show Cohen wearing a longer hairstyle and also abandoning the mid-90s rave fashion sense Bru
no exhibited during the HBO Series.
The AP reports:
Cohen, in disguise in a blond wig and preppy outfit, marched with demonstrators who support Proposition 8 while being trailed by cameras in a rally across from City Hall.
When photographers and reporters realized who he was and tried to approach the star, members of his film crew tried to shield him, and he was eventually whisked away in a van.

The California rally for the anti-gay marriage amendment has great comedic potential for the upcoming Bruno movie. Much of the comedy from both Borat and Bruno comes from Cohen’s character’s inability to understand American social, religious and political customs and norms. But while Borat’s humor comes from his political and cultural misunderstanding, Bruno’s character gets most of his laughs from his complete obliviousness to homophobia and tense reactions to his own flamboyant homosexuality.

Tim Burton to Direct Pirates of the Caribbean 4?!
Posted on 09. Oct, 2008 by CSS.
Johnny Depp is reason enough for us all to flood the theatres when Pirates 4 finally arrives, but now we may have another big reason- word is Tim Burton may be directing! I would love to see what he would do!
Our proven informant (who we’re forced to keep anonymous) wants you to know the following info should be taken with a “grain of salt and a dose of pepper,” things are still in motion, but here goes anyway. Wondering how they’re going to make a whole Pirates movie with just Jack Sparrow? Or who else might return? Read on!
Most excitingly, there are talks of Captain Jack having a brother in the next movie, possibly to be played by Sacha Baron Cohen (perfect!) or Russell Brand (even more perfect!) Of course, that’s probably just fantasy casting, but why would either of those comedians turn the role down? As we’ve mentioned before, the new movie might kick off a trilogy, which would revolve around Captain Jack’s search for the Fountain of Youth.
Geoffrey Rush and director Gore Verbinski are apparently both planning to return, but… and this is a big maybe… Tim Burton might direct instead. Tim Burton! If there is a single director who could make people excited for a fourth Pirates movie, it has to be Burton.

Sacha Baron Cohen Strikes Again As Bruno.
Posted on 04. Oct, 2008 by CSS.
We all remember last week when Sacha invaded the catwalk at a Milan Fashion show- now this past Thursday Sacha dressed as his character Bruno made a little disruption at the Stella McCartney show in Paris.
Sacha Baron Cohen’s alter ego Bruno is at it again in Paris – this morning making a very
conspicuous appearance on the second row of the Stella McCartney show.
With his red thong clearly visible above his jeans, the comedian – who was virtually unrecognisable in a flamboyant leather gilet, with his slicked-down hair dyed blonde and brown – sucked Tampax, clapped along to the music and generally disgruntled the front row by continually pushing aside those sitting in front of him for a better look at the models. While Baron Cohen did his best to steal the limelight, however, McCartney’s girls (in delicious roomy knits with a touch of the Eighties about them) held their own – and won a lone standing ovation from their most eccentric, and possibly biggest, new fan.
