We can totally see Ryan Seacrest hosting the Oscars, but how about winning one? Ry’s hilarious self-portrait in the 2007 flick Knocked Up was just the beginning of what the Idol host hopes will be the beginning of a long-career on the big screen, according to a new report.

The National Enquirer’s veteran snitch Mike Walker claims Hollywood’s Most Famous Metrosexual has landed his first real acting job in an upcoming feature film. While details about the film are still a bit hush-hush, Ryan was allegedly recently overheard telling a friend: “I play a dad who has to stand up for his young son. You won’t even recognize me in it!”

If it is true, it will be very interesting to see how well Ryan transitions from media host to hollywood actor.

The time could be right for The Silver Fox to step in for Regis.

Television legend has tapped CNN anchor Anderson Cooper — host of AC360 — to replace him on Live! within in the next two years, The National Enquirer reported Monday.

According to the tabloid report, Buena Vista Television is expected to offer Anderson a multimillion contract to join Kelly Ripa as host of the ABC morning gabfest when 78-year-old Regis retires in 2011.

“Reege loves Anderson,” an industry mole blabs. “And Anderson seems to love doing the show. Hosting
AC360 is mostly serious stuff, and Live! allows Anderson to show his funny side,”
the source adds. “He can cut loose and joke, which he enjoys. He told a pal that working on the show is an ‘absolute riot.’”

Despite his news background, Anderson, 42, has subbed for Regis many times on Live! and also has experience hosting entertainment shows, after fronting The Mole and The Mole II.

Other possible candidates to replace Regis include Deal Or No Deal host Howie Mandel and American Idol frontman Ryan Seacrest.

I feel Anderson Cooper would be a fabulous addition to the Live! cast, I find him very entertaining and he definitely has on-camera chemistry with would be co-host Kelly Ripa. For once, I hope this Enquirer story is true!

Kanye West has spoken out about the alleged domestic violence incident involving Chris Brown and Rihanna.

The rap star refers to Rihanna as his “baby sis” and says he’s “devastated” by reports that she was manhandled by the seemingly mild-mannered Chris.

In an interview with On-Air With Ryan Seacrest on Tuesday, Kanye has been friends with Rihanna for a long time and believes his Grammy performance of “American Boy” was affected because he was so emotionally moved by news that the 20-year-old “Umbrella” star had to cancel her appearance at the awards ceremony because of a fight with Chris.

“I feel like that’s my baby sis and I would do anything and everything to help her in any situation… I was completely devastated by the concept of what I heard,” Kanye told Ryan. “I was at the beginning of the ‘American Boy’ performance [with Estelle] when I really heard, when it kind of got cleared up, of what might have happened, and I was doing ‘American Boy’ and I was completely devastated during the performance.”

“Rihanna is so important to our culture … to pop music,” he continued. “I feel like she is the most important artist in music and has the most potential. Her taste level and her age … she has the potential to be the greatest artist of all time.”

He did not offer any comments during the interview on the investigation of R&B singer Chris Brown on suspicion of domestic violence, but did say that “It should never come to that place.”

“We were trying to figure out different things that would be cool,” Taylor confirmed to Ryan Seacrest this morning. “We all kind of agreed, ‘Wouldn’t it be cool if Miley was up there too and we’re singing together?’ And we’re excited about it.”

Hmm… my vote would have been for just Taylor to sing but that’s just me….

At a recent meeting with producers of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest, the New York Police Department expressed their apprehension over The Jonas Brothers’ scheduled New Years’ Eve performance in Times Square tonight.

The NYPD fears the eagerly-anticipated concert could result in a “mob scene,” with thousands of teenage girls expected to flood the streets of Manhattan for a glimpse of America’s most popular sibling singing trio.

“So they’re now planning on using extra [security] men for support,” a source tells People Magazine. “It’s going to be crazy because everyone will be in Times Square to watch them perform on the show.”
