Funny Man Chris Elliott Cast As Lily’s Dad On ‘How I Met Your Mother’

How I Met Your Mother casting news! Funny guy Chris Elliott has been cast as Lily’s dad on HIMYM – he will appear in the November 23 How I Met Your Mother Thanksgiving episode.
Chris Elliott will play Lily’s estranged loser dad – EW.com is reporting that the HIMYM episode will include flashbacks to Lily’s childhood to paint the whole picture of their relationship.

Tim Gunn “How I Met Your Mother” Guest Spot

Fashion fans, rejoice! The Chicago Tribune has learned that Project Runway’s Tim Gunn will join Rachel Bilson (formerly of The O.C.) on the 100th episode of How I Met Your Mother airing later this month.
Gunn will be playing Barney’s extremely skilled tailor who will help to save a major suit catastrophe.

Neil Patrick Harris ‘New York Magazine’ Interview

In a revealing interview with the new issue of New York Magazine, Neil Patrick Harris — who grew up before our eyes as television’s 15-year-old doc Doogie Hower M.D. — speaks on his position as one of the most successful openly-gay actors in Hollywood today.
Neil finds it “weird” being called The Great Gay Hope, says: “I appreciate that. But it feels weird to own that.”
One thing the How I Met Your Mother star isn’t shy talking about is his relationship with longtime boyfriend, Broadway actor David Burtka. “We yin and yang very well,” he says. “We’re both Geminis, but I guess, you can probably tell, I process what the options are, and figure out what to say, and he tends to just say what he is feeling. I’m just bowled over by him. He’s made my life exponentially more livable. He’s just — great. I’m his forever protector, and I’m happiest when he’s happy.”

Neil Patrick Harris Primetime Emmys Host 2009

Neil Patrick Harris will host the 61st Primetime Emmys Awards, airing September 20 on CBS, the network announced on Monday.
The gig is one in a string of award hosting gigs for Harris this year; the star of the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother won critical acclaim as host of the 2009 Tony and TV Land Awards this spring.
Last year’s Emmys were widely criticized for the decision to rotate the hosting position between five reality hosts — Tom Bergeron, Jeff Probst, Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum and Ryan Seacrest — who were all nominated in the Best Host for a Reality or Reality Competition Show category.

This is Neil’s second hosting gig in recent weeks- he just hosted The TV Land Awards a couple weeks ago.

Neil Patrick Harris TV Land Awards 2009 Host

Neil Patrick Harris, star of Doogie Howser M.D. and How I Met Your Mother, will host the 2009 TV Land Awards.
“Over the past 20 years, Neil has continued to reinvent himself with memorable roles on television, on Broadway and in film,” Larry W. Jones, president of TV Land, said in a statement announcing Neil as Master of Ceremonies. “He brings a great sense of humor and quick wit to the table, and we are thrilled to have him as our host.”
This year’s ceremony will honor classic television staples M*A*S*H, Married with Children, Home Improvement, Magnum, P.I., and Knots Landing, as well as current comedy Two and a Half Men, the retro network announced on Tuesday.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Seinfeld,The New Adventures of Old Christine)will receive TV Land’s prestigious Legacy of Laughter honor.
The seventh annual TV Land Awards will be taped April 19 in Universal City and will air on TV Land Sunday, April 26th at 8PM ET/PT.
