The Beautiful Life: TBL has come to an end thanks to some very ugly ratings.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, The CW drama is the first series to be axed from the Fall 2009 schedule, earning a cancellation after just two episodes.

The show was produced by Ashton Kutcher and featured High School Musical’s Corbin Bleu and former O.C. star Mischa Barton as a troubled model. Wednesday’s series finale was watched by a mere 1 million people — that’s less than a third of Ashton’s followers on Twitter!

On Thursday, The CW announced the pickup of two reality TV shows that may replace The Beautiful Life. Fly Girls – about Virgin airline attendants –- and a docusoap following New York City socialite Tinsley Mortimer.

Producers of the upcoming CW series The Beautiful Life are reportedly casting a new female character for the series — just in case they need to drop troubled actress Mischa Barton from the script.

The 23-year-old actress, who was set to play supermodel Sonja Stone on the show, was placed on involuntary psychiatric hold at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles last Thursday after reportedly suffering a drug-fueled emotional breakdown.

Executives at The CW have refused to postpone production on the show to await Mischa’s release from the hospital, instead creating a new character called Jane, Entertainment Weekly reports.

Production on The Beautiful Life is scheduled to begin at the end of the month.

Mischa Barton "Assassination Of A High School President" Movie Shelved

Mischa Barton most recent film project, Assassination of a High School President, will not be released.

Although Asassination was premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January, the dark comedy failed to secure a distribution deal that would have sent it into wide release.

“It seems the whole of the film industry has a problem with money at the moment and we’ve been affected by it,” the disappointed former OC star confessed to reporters at an H&M-hosted party in London last week.

But it’s not all bad news for Mischa’s, the British-born star will debut as a fashion model on the Ashton Kutcher-produced drama A Beautiful Life, premiering on The CW this fall.

Mischa Barton Cosmo Nude www.hometownhollywood.com

Mischa Barton has posed naked for the British issue of Cosmopolitan. At 23, the former OC star says she is content with the way she looks and would not change her body, even if she could.

“Surely there are more important issues than if someone has cellulite?” says Mischa, who was shot for the Cosmo spread by renowned photog Roberto D’Este.

“And I don’t understand the point of people looking for bad things. Why bother? I know it’s human nature to want to pick on other people, but I find it a little shallow.” Mischa added, “It’s human nature to be self-critical, but it’s possible to like the way you look. I’m happy now – I wouldn’t change my body, and I couldn’t anyway.”

“The only way to be happy and be a more enjoyable person to be around is to embrace what you’ve got. Everyone has issues about their body, but I feel confident now. I’m healthy and happy.”

And don’t look for the actress to debut a new nose, lip injections, or chest muscles anytime soon:
“I’m not into surgery, or changing the way I look. I think it’s better to embrace what you have and play on your good points.”

Mischa Barton Stalking Ryan Gosling www.hometownhollywood.commischa barton stalking ryan gosling www.hometownhollywood.com

Mischa Barton isn’t wasting any time moving on from British ex Luke Pritchard.

The A Beautiful Life star, 23, has developed an obsession with actor Ryan Gosling, celebrity insiders chuckle. Mischa is reportedly crushing on Ryan with such passionate intensity that frequently calling, texting, and following the 28-year-old hunk around Los Angeles has become a routine part of her day.

Despite Ryan’s on-again, off-again Hollywood romance with his Notebook co-star Rachel McAdams, Mischa is dying to be with Ryan against all odds.

According to Star Magazine:

“Mischa is crazy about Ryan. She’s had a thing for him for months and tries to be with him every chance she gets. When he won’t meet her, she just shows up where she knows he’ll be.”

“So far, Ryan doesn’t seem to be too interested, but Mischa hasn’t given up hope!”

Might want to change your phone number, Ryan.

Wonder why Mischa hasn’t put this in her blog yet??

mischa barton ordered gain weight www.hometownhollywood.com

Mischa Barton has been ordered to start packing on the pounds or face losing her role on a new CW series.

Last week, the former O.C. actress landed the part of a supermodel on Ashton Kutcher’s upcoming drama, A Beautiful Life. But Mischa’s new job is in danger of being dashed now that show bosses have become worried that her sketal skinny frame will set a bad example for young viewers.

The Daily Express writes:

“The producers are very mindful that their target audience is teenage girls so it’s important to not send out the wrong message. Mischa has the part on condition she does not lose weight – they want her to put weight on if she can.”

Former O.C. star Mischa Barton will make her return to the small screen with a role on A Beautiful Life, a new CW series produced by Ashton Kutcher.

The British-born actress was originally tapped to join Ashlee Simpson-Wentz on the network’s upcoming remake of the ’90s soap Melrose Place.

“Ashton developed it about his life growing up as a model from Iowa, so it’s about the whole fashion world that he was in, and obviously I have a lot of friends in the fashion world, so I’m used to being around a lot of people in that,” Mischa told PEOPLE at a GQ magazine-hosted party to celebrate new men’s fragrance Burberry the Beat on Thursday night.

“[I play] a bitchy model-type character, like it’s a totally different character for me…..”
