‘Ugly Betty’ Anti-Malaria Campaign

The cast of Ugly Betty has partnered with the United Nations to shed light on a campaign to stop the spread of malaria — a major killer of children in Africa.

ABC’s award-winning dramedy became the first comedy shot inside the UN’s New York City headquarters when the cast lined up for a special malaria-themed episode, which will kick off the fourth season of Ugly Betty Friday October 16th.

The season opener will feature the UN’s Nothing But Nets Initiative, a campaign revealing the role mosquito nets play in preventing the disease.

‘Ugly Betty’ Season Premiere Pushed Back

According to ABC the season 4 premiere of Ugly Betty has been postponed a week. The show was originally set to air its two hour season premiere Oct. 9- the new premiere date has been slated for October 16th.

This is the second time the show has been moved from its projected air date giving more fuel to the fire that ABC just doesn’t know what to do with the dramady. Ugly Betty is also facing a big hurdle out of the gate this year-having been moved off Thursday nights and onto a new Friday night time-slot.

As a fan of the show, I’m a little worried by all of these changes, but I’m hoping ABC execs are making them in an effort to give new life to the series. I guess in a few short weeks we’ll know.

Adele To Guest On "Ugly Betty"

British soul star Adele is to guest star on an upcoming episode of ABC’s Ugly Betty.

TVGuide.comreports that the double Grammy Award-winning “Chasing Pavements” singer will portray herself in the episode entitled “In the Stars.”

On the show, series protagonist Betty (America Ferrera), Marc (Michael Urie), and boyfriend Matt (Daniel Eric Gold) are coordinating a YETI photoshoot which becomes an impromptu wedding.

The episode will air next month.

'Ugly Betty' Pulled From ABC Lineup….

Betty’s been benched!

ABC has just announced that it will place award-winning dramedy Ugly Betty on hiatus-indefinitely-beginning March 26.

New episodes of Samantha Who? and Megan Mullally and Cheryl Hines’ freshmen comedy In the Motherhood will replace Betty, an offbeat comedy about an aspiring writer and her daily struggles to survive Manhattan’s cutthroat fashion world, in the network’s Thursday night lineup.

“Ugly Betty will return to Thursday nights at 8 p.m. following the run of In the Motherhood and Samantha Who?,” the network said in a statement released to Entertainment Weekly on Monday.

“The Thursday night block is a good opportunity to launch these comedies,” an ABC spokesman says. “Betty is a solid performer and there is no question that it will definitely be back to complete its season, just without repeats.”

ABC has not announced when Ugly Betty will return to the air.

come on, really? Here are the facts:

We are going to finish shooting our original 3rd season order – 24
episodes (currently on 16).

At the end of March, we’re going off the air for a while, at a time
when we would normally be on for a few weeks, off for a few,
confusing and angering fans with repeats.

In June, we come back, and finish the last 6 episodes of the season
without interruption!

This has been done with lots of ABC shows over time, like LOST and
Desperate Housewives. We’ve got great real estate on Thursday nights
at 8pm, and the network wants to share it with other shows! It makes
sense.

Doesn’t mean the end of Betty.
