'Bachelor' Cast-Off Melissa Rycroft Joining 'Dancing With The Stars'

A recently dumped Bachleor beauty will rebound nicely when she makes her debut on the Season Premiere of ABC’s Dancing With The Stars Monday night.

According to PEOPLE Magazine, Melissa Rycroft, 25, will fill the slot vacated by Access Hollywood host Nancy O’Dell, who had to withdraw from the competition on March 5 due to a knee injury she suffered during rehearsal.

Melissa, a former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, is expected to perform live on tomorrow night’s premiere.

Melissa won the hearts of reality TV fans across the nation last week when she won the 13th season of The Bachelor only to be jilted by fiance Jason Mesnick, who ended his romance with Melissa to return to the show’s runner-up, Molly.

(Keep those names straight. There will be a quiz on this later.)

In other DWTS News, former Hefner hottie Holly Madison is believed to be taking over for singer Jewel, who also withdrew last week due to an injury.

Jewel & Nancy O'Dell Forced To Leave "Dancing With The Stars"

Breaking News for DWTS Fans: The show has lost two celebrity dancers less than a week before its debut.

Singer Jewel and Access Hollywood host Nancy O’Dell have both withdrawn from the upcoming eighth season of ABC’s Dancing With The Stars, which premieres at 8PM this Monday night.

Suffice it to say, this is a big blow to ‘Dancing With The Stars:’ Jewel is one of THE big gets this season, in fact the biggest. Nancy’s departure is a surprise, too, but stuff happens when you get out on the floor. O’Dell suffered a torn meniscus, which will require surgery. Jewel endured two fractures of her tibia and has been ordered not to dance or even stand on it! Both Jewel and Nancy will appear on Monday nights premiere to address their injuries. ABC will unveil the contestants taking their spots during the premiere, althought it has already been largely speculated that Hef’s former girlfriend Holly Madison will be taking one of the vacant spots.

I wish both ladies a speedy recovery.

Holly Madison To Replace Jewel On ABC's "Dancing With The Stars"

Holly Madison is joining the cast of Dancing With the Stars 8, Usmagazine.com revealed in a scoop on Wednesday afternoon.

The former Girls Next Door star, and former girlfriend of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, is the rumored replacement for singer Jewel, whose recent battle with tendinitis of knee has left her ability to compete in question since last week.

Holly’s GND co-star Bridget Marquardt inadvertently confirmed the news while promoting her new Travel Channel show Bridget’s Sexiest Beaches, telling In Touch Weekly:

“I don’t know who Holly’s replacing or what happened, but she’s there trying to learn her dance. Of course she’s upset over her breakup, she really liked him a lot, obviously, but I think going on Dancing With the Stars is perfect timing. It’s perfect for her!”

Dancing With The Stars will return to the ballroom on Monday, March 9 @ 8PM on ABC.

I’m so sad Jewel is bowing out, I love her and was really looking forward to see her face off against husband Ty Murray! Bummer…

The new contestants have been announced for the upcoming season of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars.

Showing off their fancy footwork this season we have, Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson, country singer Chuck Wicks (Julianne Hough’s boyfriend), model/actor Gilles Marini, E! reality star Denise Richards, mogul Steve Wozniak, 80s pop star Belinda Carlisle, rodeo star Ty Murray, singer Jewel, comedian David Alan Grier, rapper Lil Kim, Lawrence Taylor, Jackass star Steve-O, and Access Hollywood correspondent Nancy O’Dell.

Professional dancer Julianne Hough will be back this season, dancing with her boyfriend Chuck Wicks. And for the first time, a marrried couple will face off on the ballroom series, as rodeo star Ty Murray faces off against wife Jewel.

Jewel To Be A Contestant On 'Dancing With The Stars'

“Hands” singer Jewel is hoping to earn some acclaim for her fancy footwork on the upcoming season of Dancing With The Stars.

The ’90s folk star has signed up to compete on the eighth season of the ballroom competiton, In Touch Weekly revealed on Wednesday.

“Jewel is so excited about being on the show. She loves to dance,” a friend of the recently wed songstress tells the tab. “She’s thrilled because of what the show has done for past contestants’ bodies,” the friend adds.
