PEOPLE Magazine landed exclusive rights to the first public photos of David Daniel Otunga Jr., the son of Academy Award-winning crooner Jennifer Hudson and her wrestler fiance David Otunga Sr.
Jennifer is in her first months of motherhood and the “Spotlight” star is opening up about her most precious moments with David Jr — who arrived Aug. 10.
“I love being nurturing and caring because I love to see other people happy,” Jennifer tells PEOPLE. “Who better to devote my time to than my own child?”

How hard was it keeping your pregnancy under wraps?“David and I were the only people who knew for a long time. I would forget I was pregnant, it was so easy. I didn’t have any morning sickness, no cravings either. I just thought, ‘Oh, well, we’ll wait until it’ll tell on itself.’ I didn’t show until I was seven months so that made it easy right there.”
Your son was delivered via C-section, what was your recovery like?
“Everybody told me how much it was going to hurt afterwards but I think I have a different tolerance for pain than others. By that night after I had the baby, I’m like, ‘Look, I can’t sit in this bed anymore. I’ve got to get up!’ I’ve been up and about since he was born. To me, the pain is no different than when you work out a muscle you’ve never worked out before and it’s sore.”
Would Jennifer like her son to become an entertainer like his Mom & Dad? “We’ll definitely encourage education. His father is an education fanatic so we definitely want him to get an education and go to school….My mom always said, ‘Whatever you want to do, I’ll support you as long as you’re happy.’ So I will do the same.”

Jennifer Hudson Sister Julia Hudson Pregnant Less Than A Year After Son’s Murder

Less than a month after Jennifer Hudson delivered baby boy David Otunga Jr., the Grammy and Oscar-winning actress’ older sister has announced her own pregnancy!
Julia Hudson — whose 7-year-old son Julian was shot and killed last year — is expecting her second child, Star Magazine reports in its Sept. 21 issue, on newsstands now.
“She’s about four months along,” a family snitch tattles to the tab. “When Julia found out, she called Jennifer right away.”
The sisters have strengthened their bond since losing their mother, Darnell Donnerson, brother Jason Hudson, and Julian in a triple homicide on Chicago’s South Side nearly a year ago. Julia’s estranged husband, William Balfour, is in an Illinois prison awaiting trial in connection with the murders.
“They’re closer than ever,” says the insider. “And Jennifer and Julia can’t wait to begin swapping tips on coping with motherhood.”
“They know they can never replace Julian, but this new baby has brought the family a lot of joy.”

Jennifer Hudson And Fiance David Otunga Expecting Baby!

Jennnifer Hudson is seven months pregnant with her first child, a longtime friend of the Grammy/Oscar-winning 27-year-old told The Chicago Tribune over the weekend.
The singer/actress has been laughing off rumors that she and fiance David Otunga are expecting since reports first surfaced in an April report from Essence Magazine.
But according to the star’s pal Felicia Fields, Jennifer celebrated the baby’s arrival at a relative’s home in her native Chicago, Illinois on Saturday, May 30.
“It was a baby shower, a quiet gathering of friends and mostly family. They’re really trying to keep it kind of quiet. It was a nice time that we had,” Felicia told The Tribune on Sunday.
Jennifer and David are determined to keep the sex of the baby a secret – with guests at the party lavishing her with neutral colored gifts.
“They don’t know (the gender).”
A giant heartfelt Congratulations for Jennifer!! What a blessing in what has been a year of intense emotional pain following the deaths of her Mother, Brother and nephew.

Jennifer Hudson Reportedly Pregnant

Essence.com is citing two unnamed sources close to Jennifer Hudson who claim the engaged star is expecting her first child.
J. Hud –who is currently on tour with R&B star Robin Thicke– is set to marry I Love New York 2 contestant David Otunga later this year.
Both Jennifer’s manager and publicist deny the pregnancy report.

Jennifer Hudson stopped by The Oprah Winfrey Show on Friday. The award-winning singer discussed her Super Bowl performance, Oscar and Grammy wins, her upcoming tour with Robin Thicke, and her three dogs, named after three greatest accomplishments, Oscar, Grammy, and Dreamgirls.
“I’m good. I’m really good. Glad to be back to working and doing what I love to do. I’m in a very good place.”

I gotta say Whitney is looking fabulous! Her dress was absolutely fantastic and I cant wait to see her singing and on top of her game again! Whitney delivered the award for best R&B Album, while also paying omage to Clive Davis whom was honored Saturday night with the Recording Academy Industry Icon Award. Jennifer Hudson won the the award for best R&B album. Jennifer thanked her family ‘those who are in heaven and those who are here.’

Jennifer Hudson 2009 Grammy Performance: 'You Pulled Me Through'

Jennifer looked amazing!! She has one of the best voices. Her performance of her song ‘You Pulled Me Through’ was very very moving and she nailed it! I loved the backup choir. Jennifer ended the song fighting back tears and received a standing ovation.
