Possible “Glee” Stage Musical Tour 2010
Posted on 13. Oct, 2009 by CSS.

No wonder NBC is peeved — Glee became an instant fan favorite after premiering earlier this year — so much so, there’s a musical tour it in the works!
The satirical television comedy — which airs Wednesday nights on FOX — is in the preliminary stages of being transformed into a live stage production. While there is still no official confirmation, a traveling stage production inspired by the TV musical could debut as early as Spring 2010, Glee creator Ryan Murphy told Entertainment Weekly on Monday.
“We’ve had a tremendous amount of enthusiasm from our music partners. Certainly if these kids become stars in their own right, who knows? Live appearances. Albums. There’s lots of things that could happen,” FOX Broadcasting President Kevin Reilly dished.
The pilot of Glee premiered after the finale of American Idol last May, averaging 9.619 million viewers. The pilot generated a lot of buzz before returning four months later.

“Glee” Creator Ryan Murphy Responds To NBC Float-Gate 2009
Posted on 13. Oct, 2009 by CSS.

Ryan Murphy, creator of FOX’s fall hit Glee, says he “understands” NBC’s decision to pull the show’s musical cast from the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
On Monday, the network tossed the cast of Glee from next month’s 2009 Turkey Day broadcast, allegedly because the innovative show has proven a ratings winner for NBC’s fierce competitor. Word is NBC requested that parade organizers rescind an invitation to the Glee cast to appear at the holiday event for fear that it would “amount to too much promotion” for the popular show.
Sour grapes, anyone? In the past, the parade has featured performers from rival shows, including American Idol and High School Musical. Well, not this year.
“I completely understand NBC’s position, and look forward to seeing a Jay Leno float,” Murphy cracked to Entertainment Weekly about the diss.
If anything NBC’s decision to axe the show’s performance has created more publicity for the show- this is my third post on the Fox hit show in a 24-hour period!

NBC Boots ‘Glee’ Cast Off Network Thanksgiving Day Parade
Posted on 13. Oct, 2009 by CSS.

Looks like The Peacock’s been bitten by The Green-Eyed Monster.
TMZ says NBC has dumped the singing-dancing cast of TV’s Glee from a scheduled appearance at next month’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Why, you ask? Well, you didn’t hear it from us, but word is the fancy suit and ties over at NBC headquarters are peeved that the upbeat series has proven a ratings winner for FOX, while many of the new additions to its own fall schedule have crashed and burned before November sweeps.
Last month, Glee became the first new fall series to earn a full season pickup.

FOX’s “Glee” Gets Full 13-Episode Season Picked Up
Posted on 22. Sep, 2009 by CSS.

Glee fans, rejoice! FOX’s new critically-acclaimed musical comedy became the first show this fall to get a full 13-episode season order.
“It’s fantastic to be the first show picked up, and that this underdog series, like its characters, will get the chance to keep singing. There are so many more stories to tell,” series creator Ryan Murphy said in a statement Monday.
The response to Glee has been “remarkable,” FOX President of Entertainment Kevin Reilly added. “I’ve seen all 13 episodes and … they’ve knocked our socks off.”
The uplifting series follows an optimistic high school teacher as he tries to reinvent the high school’s glee club and challenges the group of outcasts to realize their star potential.
The freshman comedy — marked by biting humor — premiered to Fox’s highest numbers for a new scripted show in three years. A total 7.3 million viewers watched the first episode earlier this month, which won its Wednesday time slot in the adults 18-49 demographic.

A new ad from non-profit organization The Nation of Marriage (NOM) is making the rounds on YouTube.
The PSA, called “Gathering Storm,” features Americans opposed to gay marriage warning others that The group –whose mission is to protect marriage and the faith communities that sustain it –believes that granting marriage rights to gays will make it difficult for heterosexuals to live their lives normally.
But now celebs, like Sophia Bush, Sarah Chalke, Lance Bass, Alicia Silverstone, and Star Trek legend George Takei, are fighting back against NOM’s ad with their own parody PSA released in cooperation with FunnyOrDie.com. Check theirs out:
