Sherlock Holmes has stepped up to sponsor next Sunday’s Family Guy special.

The upcoming Warner Bros. film will be the sole sponsor of Family Guy Presents: Seth & Alex’s Almost Live Comedy Show. Last week, Microsoft abruptly backed out as sponsor of the half-hour comedy-variety program, amid complaints of offensive themes and language. A sneak preview from the December release, starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law, will air during the broadcast.

Guy Ritchie References Madonna As "IT"

Page Six has a new blurb claiming that relations between Madonna and ex-husband Guy Ritchie are still quite frosty, despite them occasionally spending time together for the sake of their kids. In fact, they claim that Guy refers to Madonna as an “it” – something few of us could argue with!

MADONNA’S ex-husband, Guy Ritchie, reportedly has been dissing the Material Girl (above) behind her back by referring to her as “It.” London’s Sun newspaper quoted a source: “Guy will say, ‘Oh, It’s in a bad mood today.’ ” The British director adopted the nasty nickname even before the couple officially split. “Even towards the end of their marriage, he would call her It. He told people, ‘We can’t make It angry.’ There is absolutely no love lost between them,” the source told the paper. MADONNA’s rep, Liz Rosenberg, shot back to Page Six: “It hasn’t been in a bad mood since the divorce was finalized.

-From Page Six

I have to give props to Liz Rosenberg. That was an awesome response. Much, much better than the usual, “We don’t comment on our client’s private lives.” To be fair, there are a lot of worse things to call someone than an “it.”

I think it’s pretty comical…

Guy Ritchie Ordered To Re-Shoot 5 Weeks Of Filming For 'Sherlock Holmes'

After initial screening of scenes from Guy Ritchie’s new film Sherlock Holmes were judged not up to Warner Bros. standards, he has been ordered to refilm them. The movie, starring Jude Law and Robert Downey, Jr., was rumored to be cursed after Downey was knocked unconscious and a petrol tanker exploded on set in separate incidents. The scenes were also shot during Guy’s public divorce from Madonna, and I’m not at all surprised that they weren’t up to Guy’s usual standard. Dealing with an unhappy Madonna has to put anyone in an uncreative mood.

Guy Ritchie was fuming last night after being ordered to re-shoot five weeks’ worth of scenes for his Sherlock Holmes film.

Warner Bros chiefs said the first cut was not good enough — and blasted one scene as “ridiculously unrealistic”.

Guy, 40, must now call back A-list stars including Jude Law, and is battling to meet the November release date.

A source said the scenes were filmed while director Guy was “distracted” by his divorce from Madonna.

The insider added: “It’s disastrous news, but Guy has promised to fix it.”

-From The Sun

I’m actually very excited about this new film. Ritchie’s style has very quick cuts, quick dialogue, and quick plot twists. Two of his best are probably Snatch (starring Brad Pitt), and Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels. I’m wondering if that “ridiculously unrealistic” scene that Warner Bros. didn’t like was dubbed so because it doesn’t quite jive with the studios’ perception of what a Sherlock Holmes movie should be. Robert Downey Jr. may be in period costume, but the execs have to remember that they hired Ritchie to do the movie – and he has a style all his own.

Two Madonna Stories: Madonna Still Dreams Of Acting Career/Jesus Luz Relationship Fake

Posted on 16. Feb, 2009 by CSS.

Did you think that Madonna’s film career sank with that boat in Swept Away? Well, you were wrong. Madge still wants acceptance as an actress, and to get that acceptance, Madge is bound and determined to play the most hated American in England. Such a stretch, right? No, Madonna wants to play the American divorcee Wallis Simpson, who married King Edward VIII. In the end, the engagement and marriage led King Edward to abdicate, leading to King George VI (and later, his daughter, Queen Elizabeth) to reign. The Telegraph has more on Madonna’s “obsession” with the role she was born to play:

The pop singer, 50, is said to have become fascinated with the story of the American socialite who caused a constitutional crisis.

Now she intends to portray her in a film which will tell the story of how Edward gave up his position as the King of England after less than a year, so he could marry the twice-divorced Mrs Simpson in 1936.

Madonna is said to see similarities between herself and Mrs Simpson, who later became the Duchess of Windsor, as they are both Americans who moved to Britain and caused a “stir” with their relationships.

According to sources, Madonna, who divorced British film director Guy Ritchie last year, covered a wall of her London house with articles about Wallis Simpson and even wrote to the Queen to ask permission to make the film.

A source told The Sun: “Madonna sees Wallis Simpson as her next big film project. She is as passionate about it as she was about playing Eva Peron in Evita.

“Madonna said she is fascinated with this American commoner who refused to conform or offer explanations for her tangled love life.

“It was all systems go when until the divorce, when everything was put on the back-burner. When things in her life settle down this year, she’s keen to get things going again.”

-From The Telegraph

The story of King Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson is very interesting, and I’m genuinely surprised it hasn’t been made into a major film. But Madonna as Wallis Simpson? Uh, no. Please. Get a real actress.

In other Madonna news, the latest rumor about her and Jesus Luz is that it’s all some sort of scam. Madonna wanted to be seen as attractive and desirable, and Jesus wanted a career boost. Apparently all of the photo-ops at the Kabbalah Center are just to make Guy Ritchie jealous? I’m chuckling at that one. Does anyone think that Guy Ritchie looks at current photos of Madonna and feels anything other than relief?

Madonna’s relationship with Brazilian male model Jesus is nothing but a desperate attention-seeking exercise, insiders have revealed.

Sources close to the singer claim she is using one of her typical publicity ploys to drum up interest in her tour. The carefully orchestrated photos are also apparently designed to wind up ex Guy Ritchie – although he is not taking the bait.

A source alleged: “It’s a classic Madge publicity stunt but suits both parties well. Despite her advancing years, she looks like she’s still got what it takes to pull a 22-year-old. And Jesus is getting a boost of publicity as well. Everyone’s a winner.”

The pair were introduced by celebrity snapper Steven Klein and Madonna, 50, asked Jesus to join her on tour in Sao Paulo. The Material Girl also took him to the Kabbalah centre in New York at the weekend with children Lourdes and David Banda.

A source added: “Guy saw the pictures of her and Jesus together and laughed out loud. He sees it as another publicity exercise. Taking Jesus to Kaballah is a masterstroke as she always historically introduces her lovers to the religion.”

“It’s just Madonna for you. She loves being the center of attention. You would have thought she’d grown tired of it by now.”

Sources close to the singer also say the “relationship” has annoyed baseball star Alex “A-Rod” Rodriguez, who she was rumored to have been seeing.

So many games… she must be exhausted!

Madonna has won a court case over the publication of private photos of her 2000 wedding to ex-husband Guy Ritchie.

London’s High Court ruled in the Material Girl’s favor after the photos of the wedding, stolen by interior designer Robert Joseph Wilber, were published in the Mail on Sunday one week after the pop star announced her split from Ritchie.

The amount to be awarded will be decided next year.

Madonna, 50, and Guy Ritchie, 40, have reached a settlement agreement on their divorce, celebrity insiders tell London’s Evening Standard..

According to the Standard, the British director has not asked for a red cent of Madonna’s estimated $600 million fortune, despite the fact that the couple did not sign a prenup when they wed nearly eight years ago.

Instead, Guy and Madonna have agreed to share custody of their two sons, Rocco, eight, and David, 3. The boys will divide their time between Britain and the U.S., while Madonna’s daughter Lourdes will continue to live with her.

Expect an official announcement on the settlement by the end of the month, the paper says.
