The 29-year-old will play the CIA analyst in a revival of the series based on the popular Tom Clancy novels, according to Variety.

“Tom Clancy created an unforgettable character with Jack Ryan,” Paramount Film Group president Adam Goodman told the trade paper Wednesday. “With Chris in this role, we’ve taken our first step in creating a re-boot that lives up to the successful lineage of the franchise.”

Baldwin was the first to play Ryan in 1990’s The Hunt for Red October. Ford played him in 1992’s Patriot Games and 1994’s Clear and Present Danger. Most recently, Ben Affleck took over the role in the 2002 hit The Sum of All Fears.

It looks like Chris Pine beat out a much older George Clooney. Clooney had previously expressed his eagerness to take on the famous role of Jack Ryan.

Would You Eat "George Clooney Flavored" Tofu??

Animal rights activists with People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) have thought of a new way to get people to eat tofu; just make it taste like George Clooney.

According to The Washington Post, the animal rights group has been offered the actor’s gym towel and wants to use his sweat to create Clooney-flavored tofu.

…..Ew……

“The technology actually exists to take your perspiration and make it into George Clooney-flavored tofu (CloFu),” PETA writes. “Of course, your fans would swoon at the idea of eating CloFu. If you use a sample of human perspiration, it is ‘no different than making artificial chicken flavor for instant gravy.’”

“As a mammal, I’m offended,” George responded simply in a statement from his rep.
