‘Footloose’ Director Kenny Ortega Steps Down

Kenny Ortega has dropped out as director of Paramount’s Footloose remake, starring Gossip Girl’s Crawford and country starlet Julianne Hough, according to Variety.
The High School Musical lensman reportedly left the project after clashing with the studio about budget and tone.
Kenny, who directed the soon-to-be-released Michael Jackson concert film This Is It, allegedly wanted to stage complex musical numbers — which would have cost the studio $30 million. Paramount production chief Adam Goodman, on the other hand, insisted he remake be more dramatic than musical.
The 1984 original starred Kevin Bacon as a city slicker who moves to a rural town where dance has been outlawed by a overzealous local minister. In the process of trying to change the town’s laws, the teen falls in love with the preacher’s daughter.
A new Footloose director is expected to step in promptly to keep the film on track for its June 18 theatrical release

Julianne Hough Lands Role In ‘Burlesque’ Film

Julianne Hough has landed a role as a dancer in the upcoming movie musical Burlesque, The Boot reported Wednesday. The former Dancing With The Stars pro and rising country star joins a cast that already include Christina Aguilera, Kristen Bell, and Cher.
Julianne also landed herself the lead role in the upcoming remake of Footloose opposite heartthrob Chace Crawford.

‘Gossip Girl’ Threesome Episode

Leave it to CW’s hit show Gossip Girl to continue to push the envelope. The Nov. 9 episode of Gossip Girl — shadowing New York’s out-of-control Upper Eastsiders — will feature a steamy menage trios between three central characters, sources tell Entertainment Weekly’s Michael Ausiello.
“At the same time. In the same bed. Together,” Ausiello writes of the romp.
Parents were up in arms over Gossip Girl’s provocative ad campaign images…I wonder how they will react to this new development!

Chace Crawford And Bar Refaeli Reportedly Dating

Great-looking couple alert. Hollywood may have a new genetic super couple on its hands now that Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford and supermodel Bar Refaeli are reportedly locking lips. Crawford, 24, and the Sports Illustrated model —were spotted partying at New York hotspot 1Oak over the weekend, The New York Daily News reports.
Chace and Bar were spied “dancing on each other, swaying their hips together from side to side” to Jay-Z’s new song, “Run This Town,” according to one spywitness. “At one point, Bar reached down and grabbed Chace’s backside,” said the source. “Bar and Chace have been spending a lot of time together since Bar is in town and attending NY Fashion Week events.”

Julianne Hough Allegedly Bombs 'FootLoose' Audition

She can dance and she can sing — but Julianne Hough’s acting is going to require some professional fine-tuning, if tattles for The New York Post are to be believed.
The Dancing With The Stars performer and rising country starlet is reportedly rearranging her work schedule to accomodate filming for next year’s remake of the 1984 film Footloose. However, word is Julianne has been ordered to take acting lessons after she tanked an audition for the role of preacher’s daughter Ariel Moore in the film, which will star Gossip Girl’s Chace Crawford.
Julianne’s audition “was so bad, the producers sent her off to take acting classes,” The Post reports. “She’s scheduled for another screen test Aug. 1. They definitely like her, but the producers know they need a real actress for the movie to work — she’s a pretty girl who can sing and dance, but so was Mariah Carey, and we all know how ‘Glitter’ turned out.”
Footloose opens in theaters in July of 2010.

"Footloose" Remake gets June 18, 2010 Release Date

With Zac Efron out and Chace Crawford and Derek Hough still vying for the role that made Kevin Bacon a star 25 years ago, Paramount Pictures’ planned remake of the 1984 hit Footloose hasn’t attached a star-studded cast just yet.
But its got a release date.
The dance flick will shake its way into theaters on June 18, 2010 — facing off against the long-awaited arrival of Toy Story 3 — box-office tracking firm Exhibitor Relations announced on Tuesday.

Chace Crawford Struggling To Find A Way To Film "Footloose"

Gossip Girl could keep Chace from “kicking off his Sunday shoes….”
Chace Crawford is in final negotiations for the lead role in the upcoming revival of Kevin Bacon’s 1984 film Footloose. There’s only one problem: his hit CW show, Gossip Girl.
According to a scoop from E!’s Mark Malkin, the G.G. shooting schedule has put a major kink in plans for Chace to star in Footloose and show producers have been able unable to adjust the schedule to accommodate the movie musical.
“There’s a big overlap of when he’d have to shoot Footloose and the next season of Gossip Girl,” a source said. “Chace may be hiring a big-league attorney to come in and figure out how to make it work.”

Lindsay Lohan Repeatedly Rejected By Chace Crawford:

Lindsay Lohan has been rejected by Gossip Girl hunk Chace Crawford.
Lindsay, who is in a lesbian relationship with DJ Samantha Ronson, was seen with the actor after attending a few New York Fashion Week-related events last Friday night. However, friends of Chace insist the TV star is not interested in anything romantic with the Mean Girls actress.
A OK! tattle says: “Lindsay heard that Chace and Emile Hirsch were hanging out at Justin Timberlake’s restaurant Southern Hospitality for drinks. But she showed up uninvited and unannounced. She caused quite a scene so Chace left to go back to his place for some more fun.”
Linds wasn’t taking no for an answer and reportedly followed Chace back to his Manhattan pad.
Damn! Can you say desperate!?
“Lindsay showed up uninvited to Chace’s apartment and was not allowed in.”
This isn’t Chace’s first run-in with the allegedly relentless Linds. Last October, the actress was accused of bombarding the actor with “provocative” text messages after meeting him at an industry party.
It’s a little sensational but I definitely believe it- especially after seeing her march into his building at 6:00 am – Home Girl had desperation oozing off of her!! Not to mention earlier that night she was seen in the streets fighting with Sam… Lindsay Lohan has such self destructing habits, I hate to say it- but you can see them a mile away!

According to a NY Daily News tattle, two of television’s favorite Upper Eastsiders are so busy filming their hit CW series, their Chelsea apartment is repugnant.
“It stinks!” an insider screeched. “Those boys are slovenly and have garbage and clothes everywhere. You’d think they were living in a frat house!”
Maybe they oughta take some of that CW cash and invest in a maid service!

'Gossip Girls' Stars Walk Out On $500 Bar Tab.

Did the cast of television’s Gossip Girl really walk out on a $500 tab at a New York City hotspot last week?
Yep.
On Sunday, The New York Post dished that actors Chace Crawford, Leighton Meester, Jessica Szohr, and Ed Westwick pulled a dine and dash-walking out without paying their bill-while partying the night away at Brother Jimmy’s in Manhattan after a Kings of Leon concert.
They “held an impromptu party in the private room upstairs,” a source revealed. “Nobody ever paid the $500 bar tab the group racked up.”
