"Obsessed" No. 1 Weekend Box Office $28.5 Million

Film goers are obsessed with Beyonce. The Grammy winner’s new movie, Obsessed, soared to No. 1 at the box office this weekend, earning $28.5 million in ticket sales, according to early studio estimates.

The thriller stars the “Halo” singer as the wife of a successful asset manager (Idris Elba) whose co-worker (Ali Larter) begins stalking him, turning their lives upside down.

Here’s how the Weekend Box Office Top 10 rounded out:

  3. “Fighting,” $11.4 million.

The Art of Elyzium's 2nd Annual Heaven Gala In Los Angeles

With the party season in full swing as Golden Globes weekend is upon us, the stars were out for The Art of Elysium’s 2nd Annual Heaven Gala in Los Angeles on Saturday night (January 10).

Held at The Vibiana, the stylish black-tie affair saw Hollywood stars including Nicole Richie, Joel Madden, Kate Bosworth and Gerard Butler all take to the red carpet for the charitable cause.

The event was hosted by Rosetta Millington Getty and Ryan Kavanaugh, with other celebrities in attendance including Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Patricia Arquette, Sophia Bush, Kirsten Dunst, Melissa Joan Hart, Ali Larter, Jared Leto, Eva Mendes and many others.

Jennifer Howell, founder of the organization which seeks to enrich the lives of artists and critically ill children, told press, “The Art of Elysium exists because of the passion that artists hold in their hearts. By serving children in need, the artist is allowed to express this passion in ways that could never be revealed on stage, in a gallery or behind a camera.”
