Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin are teaming up to host the 82nd Academy Awards.

The duo will follow 2009 host Hugh Jackman, who announced last week that he would not return to helm next year’s ceremony. While Academy Award-nominated actor Alec is a first-time Oscar host, Steve hosted the 73rd and 75th Academy Awards.

The two men have a friendly hosting rivalry on the sketch comedy hit Saturday Night Live. Steve has hosted SNL 15 times, while Alec has hosted the sketch comedy just 14 times.

“I am happy to co-host the Oscars with my enemy Alec Baldwin,” Steve said in a statement Tuesday.

“I don’t play the banjo but I’m thrilled to be hosting the Oscars – it’s the opportunity of a lifetime,” Alec added, referencing the comedian legend, who does play the banjo and is currently touring with the bluegrass band Steep Canyon Rangers.

The 2010 Academy Awards will air live from Kodak Theater at Hollywood & Highland Center in Los Angeles on March 7.

The 29-year-old will play the CIA analyst in a revival of the series based on the popular Tom Clancy novels, according to Variety.

“Tom Clancy created an unforgettable character with Jack Ryan,” Paramount Film Group president Adam Goodman told the trade paper Wednesday. “With Chris in this role, we’ve taken our first step in creating a re-boot that lives up to the successful lineage of the franchise.”

Baldwin was the first to play Ryan in 1990’s The Hunt for Red October. Ford played him in 1992’s Patriot Games and 1994’s Clear and Present Danger. Most recently, Ben Affleck took over the role in the 2002 hit The Sum of All Fears.

It looks like Chris Pine beat out a much older George Clooney. Clooney had previously expressed his eagerness to take on the famous role of Jack Ryan.

betty white guest star 30 rock www.hometownhollywood.com tina feyThe guest list for one of NBC’s most popular comedies just got a bit more “Golden.”

Emmy Award-winning comedy 30 Rock will welcome Emmy Award-winning television
legend Betty White for a guest appearance later this season!

“We’re shooting a bit tomorrow with Betty White, so that’s good!” series star Tina Fey told Access Hollywood’s Nancy O’Dell after winning the Emmy for Best Comedy Series on Sunday night.

“What is she going to be playing?”
Nancy asked.

“She’s playing herself,” Tina replied.

Betty was the cast’s first choice when it came to who should guest star, says Alec Baldwin, who took home the trophy for Best Lead Actor In A Comedy Series.

“We all put names in a hat, and we took a vote, if you could have one guest star for the whole season, who would it be? And Betty White was the winner!”

30 Rock took home 5 Emmy’s this year and the new season premieres Thursday October 15, 2009.

Salma Hayek Chooses '30Rock' Over Honeymoon!

Posted on 01. Mar, 2009 by CSS.

After surprising everyone with her Valentine’s Day wedding to Francois-Henri Pinault, the French billionaire/baby-daddy, Salma Hayek decided to do something strange for her honeymoon. She decided not to go on it. Can you imagine?

Instead, Salma showed up for work on “30 Rock” where she is playing a reoccurring guest star character who is a devout Catholic, a McDonalds-McFlurry-lover and Jack’s girlfriend. As a fan of “30 Rock”, I thank her!

Actress Salma Hayek skipped her honeymoon with new husband Francois-Henri Pinault – flying straight back from her Paris, France nuptials to shoot TV show “30 Rock”. The Frida star married her businessman partner on St. Valentine’s Day (14Feb09) in a romantic ceremony in the French capital.

But the couple was forced to postpone plans for a relaxing post-wedding break, as Hayek was due to film her guest spot on Tina Fey’s hit comedy series immediately afterwards.

The news was confirmed by Alec Baldwin, who plays Hayek’s love interest in the show: “She flew right from her wedding to come shoot with us again. Her husband is a doll.”

Series creator Fey adds, “(Hayek) spent her honeymoon working with us! She told me, ‘You must go the parties with me and elope! You must party with me!’”

Hayek originally announced her engagement to Pinault in March 2007, but they called off the wedding in July 2008. They are parents to 16-month-old daughter, Valentina.

-From Contact Music

It’s weird because after marrying a billionaire, I wouldn’t ever work another day again. It says something about Salma’s work ethic – and how much she believes in the show. Although, I imagine working on “30 Rock” is a hoot, so maybe it isn’t even like work. This whole non-honeymoon thing is silly because we all know in a short bit I’ll be uploading some new post on their “long awaited Honeymoon”… you just wait!
