Courtney Cox Developing A Sitcom Called "Cougar Town"

Courtney Cox is creating a new show, she is teaming up with former Friends writer Bill Lawrence. (Bill is also the creator of Spin City and Scrubs) He is set to produce Cougar Town, while Courtney stars in it- the show is about a newly single 40 year old woman:

Welcome to “Cougar Town.” ABC has greenlighted a single-camera comedy pilot from “Scrubs” creator Bill Lawrence to star “Friends” alumna Courteney Cox. Produced by ABC Studios and penned by Lawrence and “Scrubs” writer Kevin Biegel, “Cougar Town” centers on an attractive, newly single 40-year-old mom (Cox) with a 17-year-old son.

“Forty-year-old women on TV are so beautiful and perfect and wrinkle-free,” said Lawrence, who first worked with Cox when he was a writer on “Friends.” “People don’t do the reality of it, and there is a real comedy area about a woman who is talking about Botox, about having sex with the lights on and how her body is changing.”

Lawrence and Biegel had the idea for the show for a while, and Lawrence felt that Cox, whom he describes as “comedically fearless,” would be perfect for the lead. After the actress guest-starred on the opening three episodes of the upcoming season of “Scrubs,” he approached her. Cox said she has been “a huge fan of Bill Lawrence and his comedic sensibilities” since “Friends” and that “after having such a great time with him on ‘Scrubs,’ it felt like the perfect fit.”

I am a big fan of Courtney’s I tried to hang with  her on Dirt but it just wasn’t for me- this sounds like a potentially funny show that could be a hit if it’s well written and has a good cast to back it up.

Bill Pullman's Son Arrested.

Get out the banjo, here’s one you don’t hear every day. Actor Bill Pullman’s 19-year-old son Jack was arrested for possessing moonshine and assaulting a government official. I was under the impression that moonshine was best left to the Great Depression, but apparently it holds a great deal of appeal to the teenage spawn of semi-famous actors.

Bill Pullman’s 19-year-old son has been busted for allegedly possessing moonshine and assaulting a government official.

According to Ashville, N.C., news station WLOS, Jack Pullman and his friend, Allan Gaddy, also 19, were arrested Monday and face numerous charges including resisting officers, assaulting a government official, underage drinking and possession of moonshine. The two were released from jail the following night.

Pullman – who starred in Independence Day, Sleepless in Seattle and many other films – has issued no comment.

Speaking as someone who gave her parents hell- I feel for Bill especially being in the limelight and having this news broadcast everywhere…

Nicole Kidman's On Set Diary Revealed.

Posted on 31. Oct, 2008 by CSS.

Hello! Magazine has excerpts from Nicole Kidman’s supposedly personal diary, written while she was working on the set Baz Luhrman’s upcoming epic, Australia, before she was pregnant with Sunday.

Kidman’s narrative has a lot of poetic descriptions, and she seems to feel everything deeply and be oh so moved by it. It comes off as affected at first, as if she’s writing for an audience, and I had some trouble adjusting to her style. Maybe she’s one of those people who is very sensory-oriented and finds a lot of significance in small things.

She does goes on and on about how she feels, which is what a diary is for. I can’t help but thinking she shouldn’t have released it to the public, even though it’s likely she wrote it for that purpose.

Describing a moment
It is magical late in the afternoon standing in the warm breeze, surrounded by the twin sisters [mountains] with the sun disappearing, with King George [David Gulpilil] doing his chanting and singing. I just try to breathe it in, hold it close, savour the moment and make it a memory. I sometimes think I am putting together a montage of my life’s moments that will flicker before my eyes just before I die. I hope this can be one of those moments.

On her career
I’m just really glad that I’m here working on a magnificent piece of art, concentrating on what I do, knowing what I do, and feeling grateful for having a great role. It’s amazing how you live between huge successes, huge bombs and everything in between. I try to walk through these and just focus on having a great role.

On wanting to have a baby
Also today I am feeling a huge urge – was it the lunar eclipse? – to have a baby. I would love to have a baby in my tummy. Sigh. We’ll see, one day, what God has in store. I don’t know why I am feeling that right now but yeah, I would like to see that tummy grow. I think I was looking at Brandon and this little aboriginal baby, Angelica, on the set and feeling all that maternal pull. Big.

On missing her two children
Driving home there was a mother and a tiny little joey kangaroo just freshly killed on the road. There’s a lot of road kill, but seeing the joey – it just hit me. I’m feeling wistful. I’m missing my children… missing seeing their faces, kissing their heads.

On her husband, Keith, loving her unconditionally
Keith’s here, feet up, on the computer. He says hi. We had a conversation today, grappling with the state of yearning and existing in a place of happiness, but with desires to keep growing. He has a lovely phrase: ‘Learning to want what you have’.

Keith gives me huge strength today. It is good. I need it. A lot of my insecurities are attached to the thought that I am loved only for what I’ve achieved, so when I believe and know that he loves me no matter what I do or where I go or what I achieve or what I don’t achieve, it’s such an extraordinary thing to accept.

On the director, Baz Luhrman, being her “creative partner”
The mood on the set is changing. Hugh has gone off for a few days and now I have to hit David Wenham with a whip. Everything came to a head and I had a heart-to-heart talk with Baz. How can I go on? This is too hard. But now I am going home to have a good sleep. That always helps. I know I will feel better about things tomorrow…

I speak to Baz about feeling shaky in my confidence, and he whispers to me that it’s the best place to be. To be in that state means you are truly an artist, he says, and you need unrest and disturbance; shaking confidence and shaky self-esteem. I ask him if he feels like that. Is he shaky in his confidence and in his vision? He looks at me with his big brown eyes and nods, and I feel deeply intimate with him. I feel really, really strongly that I am with my creative partner – and that is a lovely place to be.

Gwen Stefani has released a photo of her second child, son Zuma Nesta Rock Rossdale, on her official website. The portrait is a beautiful shot of Gwen with her hair up as she holds the adorable two month old infant. Both mother and baby look to be unclothed, although the photo is a close up and only part of Gwen and Zuma’s bare back and shoulder are visible. The 40 year-old rocker had a simple message to her fans about the release of the picture:

We wanted to share with you the first photo of Zuma Nesta Rock Rossdale. Gwen, Gavin, Kingston and Zuma are all doing well and enjoying being a party of four.

Patrick Swayze Talks Cancer.

Posted on 31. Oct, 2008 by CSS.

It’s been 8 months since Patrcick Swayze was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer- or should i say it’s been 8 months as far as the public knows.

Patrick has returned to work and is talking like he’s in the clear, which is amazing. Pancreatic Cancer is well-known for having a very poor diagnosiis.

Patrick gave his first formal interview to the New York Times, talking about his new show The Beast.

“I do find myself, at the end of the day, riding home sort of catching myself with a smile on my face,” he said. “I’m proud of what I’m doing.”

The show, about halfway through its 12-episode order, is on schedule, said Bob DeBitetto, the president of A&E. Mr. Swayze, 56, said he had managed to put 20 pounds back on since the low point of his weight loss as he fought the disease, relying on “muscle-building shakes.”

So far, the production team reported, he has missed only a day and a half of work. Mr. Swayze said: “I’m still fine to work, I haven’t changed — oh, I have changed, what am I saying? It’s a battle zone I go through. Chemo, no matter how you cut it, is hell on wheels.”

“There is probably that little bird that flies through your insides and says, ‘I sure would like to make a mark in life,’ ” Mr. Swayze said. “I’ve made a pretty decent mark so far — nothing to scoff at. But it does make you think: Wait a minute. There’s more I want to do. Lots more. Get on with it.”

While he doesn’t come right out and say he is cured he does sound encouraged and strengthened in his battle. I can only wish him the best.

Tori Spelling Talks About Dropping The Baby Weight:

“I would look at pictures of myself and compare them to Jessica Alba, who had her baby two days before me,” Tori, 35, tells In Touch.

“I’d see photos of her two months after and go, ‘Look at her!’” But rather than give up, Tori says she developed a healthier attitude, passing on fad diets and hot Hollywood trainers and enlisting the help of her husband of two-and-a-half years, Dean McDermott, their 19-month-old son, Liam, and Stella. Together, they cook healthy meals and stay as active as possible.

“The best way to lose weight is to make it a family affair,” she explains. “It has changed my life.” “I’m embracing the fact that it’s a struggle for me to drop the pounds,” Tori reveals.

“It’s easier now because I’m not as focused on it.” Her advice to other moms trying to lose weight? “Take your time,” says Tori, with Stella. “If you get obsessed, you’ll miss out on great moments with your children.”

-From National Ledger

I really appreciate Tori saying this-Not only because I am a HUGE Tori Fan but I’m sure it is refreshing for all mommies out there to hear.

Jessica Simpson Wishes She Was 'God'?

Jessica Simpson stood up two dates on Tuesday night – boyfriend Tony Romo and … Elmo?

The singer – who designs clothing, shoes and handbags for Macy’s – was supposed to fly from Nashville to New York Tuesday to celebrate the department store’s 150th anniversary.

But driving rain caused serious flight delays, forcing Simpson to miss her scheduled Macy’s gig singing “Happy Birthday” with Elmo.

In fact the department store party – which included guests like Eva Mendes, Tommy Hilfiger and Martha Stewart – had nearly ended by the time Simpson finally arrived at 8:30 p.m.

“I’m so, so sorry!” she said as she rushed into Manhattan’s Gotham Hall with her B.F.F. hairstylist Ken Paves. “[I wish] I could be God and control the weather.”

Madonna Had Guy Sign Contract On "How To Argue"

You know you have an issue with Control when you have to detail rules on how to properly carry on an argument with your spouse! Word is Madonna had rules for how her now-estranged husband, Guy Ritchie, was allowed to fight with her.

New reports say that the couple had a contract drafted with the help of a marriage counselor, which instructed Guy on how to communicate with his wife when he did something to upset her….

Madonna tried to control husband Guy Ritchie with a marriage contract which urged the film director not to shout at his wife and to devote time to sex, it has emerged.

The alleged document detailed a list of rules for Guy drawn up after the couple attended counselling two years ago.

Guy was told he ‘must work to enrich his wife’s emotional and spiritual well-being’, ‘resolve conflicts in a constructive way’, and devote time to the couple’s ’sexual expressiveness’.

According to The Sun the document even had instructions on what words Guy should use during arguments, and he was told to ’state calmly: I understand that my actions have upset you, please work with me to resolve this.’

He was also expected to spend several hours reading Kabbalah texts with his estranged wife.

A source said Madonna had the contract pinned up in the couple’s New York home after they attended marriage counselling, and would reprimand Guy by saying ‘contract, contract’, if he broke the rules.

A source told The Sun: ‘Guy felt bound up like a kipper’.
