France Convicts The Church Of Scientology Of Fraud

The Church of Scientology was convicted of fraud and six of its members ordered to pay as much as $595,000 each, prosecutors in France said Tuesday.
The suit was brought by two plaintiffs, who testified that the Church — which is classified as a sect in France — and its members defrauded them through the use of a so-called electropsychometer, or E-Meter, that allegedly measures spiritual well-being, Religion News Blog has learned.
The plaintiffs said they were encouraged to pay thousands of dollars for unnecessary vitamins and books after the device was used on them.
The judgment comes in the middle of a tough week for Xenu followers; on Monday, Oscar-winning filmmaker Paul Haggis severed ties with the Church after more than 30 years and just last Friday Celebrity Center boss Tommy Davis walked out of an interview with Nightline’s Martin Bashir, after the two sparred over Bashir’s line of questioning.

Boy is the Church of Scientology taking a beating this week…..
Crash director Paul Haggis made headlines on Monday, after he abandoned the controversial sect after more than 30 years over its anti-gay marriage stance. Now, Tommy Davis, the head of the Church of Scientology’s Celebrity Center, is hitting the blogosphere for walking out of an interview with ABC Nightline correspondent Martin Bashir, because he didn’t like Bashir’s line of questioning.
Last week, ABC ran a two-part investigation into Scientology, which focused on the allegedly violent behavior by leader David Miscavige, as well as the involvement celebrities like Tom Cruise and John Travolta.
In a taped interview,which aired last Friday, Bashir grilled Davis about the church’s involvement in the autism treatments of celebrity Scientologist John Travolta’s late son Jett.
“Do you know if the church ever advised them not to allow their son to receive certain medications?”
Davis curtly replied, “The church never advised them in any way, shape or form whatsoever on any aspect of their son’s treatment. Never have, never will.”
Bashir asked Davis to expound on the church’s bizarre founding mythology, which involves an intergalactic god named Xenu who brought his people to Earth 75 million years ago and stuffed them in a volcano. Telling Bashir he wouldn’t discuss “disgusting perversions” of the religion, Davis removed his microphone and stormed off the set.

The Jesus Is Magic star is suggesting selling off the Vatican’s assets as a remedy for the food shortage in some of the most impoverished corners of the world! In a profanity-laced YouTube video, the always raunchy Silverman suggests that the Pope — who she refers to as a “caped crusader” “move out of your house that is a city” and use the wealth to feed the world so that she’ll stop seeing the world’s hungriest and most “emaciated people” on her TV screen.
The Catholic League, America’s leading Catholic civil rights organization, blasted Silverman’s video as an “obscene” and “filthy diatribe,” adding that the “Catholic Church operates more hospitals and feeds more of the poor than any private institution in the world.”

Julia Roberts Reportedly Hires 350 Bodyguards For Trip To India

Julia Roberts has ticked off Hindu villagers after her diva decision to recruit 350 guards, bulletproof cars and a helicopter to accompany her on her trip to India.
The Oscar-winning actress, husband Danny Moder, and the couple’s three children, four-year-old twins Hazel and Phinnaeus and son Henry, two, are staying in the town of Pataudi, near the capital Delhi, while Julia shoots new film Eat, Pray, Love.
Julia and Danny are so worried about their family’s safety they’ve adopted an extreme security regime, employing hundreds of bodyguards, including police officers and snipers, to protect themselves, The Sun reported Wednesday.
“Nobody can breach the cover. We have strict instructions,” a police officer reportedly told the tabloid.
The family is transported everywhere in bulletproof cars and helicopters patrol the skies 24 hours a day, enraging local residents, who have been banned from attending a Hindu temple while Julia is in town.
The restrictions are particularly upsetting for locals as September is one of the holiest months in the Hindu calendar.
One worshipper said: “It’s the holiest time of the year and we must not be stopped from visiting our own temple.”

Father Alberto Cutie CBS 'The Early Show' Exclusive Interview

A popular Miami priest and media personality –nicknamed Father Oprah thanks to his role as an advice columnist — says he is thinking about leaving the Roman Catholic Church for a woman he loves after a Spanish language magazine ran pictures of the couple kissing and hugging last week.
Father Alberto Cutie told the CBS Early Show on Monday he supports the church’s stand that priests should be celibate and said he does not want to become the “anti-celibacy priest,” but admitted to having had sex with the woman and is conflicted about how to proceed in the wake of a scandal that has reignited the debate over celibacy rules in the Catholic Church.
In the images which ran in NOTAS Magazine last week, the priest can be seen caressing and kissing an unidentified woman. Both are in bathing suits.
“I don’t support the breaking of the celibacy promise. I understand fully that this is wrong,” Cutie said.
“I don’t want to be the anti-celibacy priest. I think that’s unfortunate. I think it’s a debate that’s going on in our society, and now I’ve become kind of a poster boy for it. But I don’t want to be that. I believe that celibacy is good, and that it’s a good commitment to God. This is something I’ve struggled with. And something that I never expected to become a public debate.”
Cutie insists that he is deeply sorry over all that has happened.
The Father says said the woman in the photos “is someone that I love. … I entered the seminary 22 years ago. And in 22 years I’ve never had a sexual relationship with anyone. I committed myself fully to my vows. I’ve never been sexually inappropriate with anyone. I’ve never had any type of scandal. This is the only person that I’ve had sexual contact with.”
“I believe I’ve fallen in love,” he added. “And I believe that I’ve struggled with that. You know, between my love for God and my love for the church and my love for service. Of course, it’s something that a man should never have to deal with in the sense of his commitment, you know. If I was clear in my commitment, I should have stuck to it 100 percent. And I didn’t.”

I hear the Mean Girls wild child is converting to Judaism to prove her devotion to Jewish girlfriend Samantha Ronson.
Lindsay, a Christian, recently updated her Facebook profile to state “I’m converting” and was overheard telling a pal she was looking forward to trying a change of faith.
On Friday, the 22-year-old former child star visited a London synagogue before returning for the bar mitzvah of Sam’s brother Joshua on Saturday, The Sunday Mirror reports.

Madonna Converts Boyfriend Jesus Luz To Kabbalah

Jesus has converted to Kabbalah….No, No, No, not that Jesus! We’re talking about Madonna’s new 22-year-Boy Toy, Jesus Luz.
Jesus met Kabbalah devotee Madonna after appearing as a model alongside the Material Girl in a saucy photo-shoot for W Magazine.
The devout Catholic has updated his website informing friends of his conversion. Jesus has even joined an online community for Kabbalah believers.
“Jesus’ family are very traditional and quite religious, so this news is sure to come as something of a shock. But Jesus is totally taken with Madonna and is slightly in awe of her,” blabs a Madge camp insider.
“Quite simply he can’t get enough, and finds her utterly compelling and bewitching,” the spy adds. “The pair have spent a lot of time together in recent weeks and Madonna’s chatted quite freely about her personal beliefs – especially Kabbalah.”
Could this ‘Madge Insider’ be Madonna herself pumping up her own self-image?? I think it’s highly likely…
