Kanye West 'Details' Magazine March 2009 Cover & Video
Posted on 17. Feb, 2009 by CSS.
Or should I say Kanye West Ego is on the cover of Details…..
“Put this in the magazine: There’s nothing more to be said about music. I’m the f*cking end-all, be-all of music. I know what I’m doing. I did 808s in three weeks. I got it. It’s on cruise control. . . . Man, we talked about music for God knows how long! Now let’s talk about how my ****ing sweater didn’t come back right from Korea. That’s what’s interesting me.”
Kanye on Producing His First Beat: “First beat I did was in seventh grade, on my computer. I got into doing beats for the video games I used to try to make. My game was very sexual. The main character was, like, a giant penis. It was like Mario Brothers, but the ghosts were, like, vaginas. Mind you, I’m 12 years old, and this is stuff 30-year-olds are programming. You’d have to draw in and program every little step—it literally took me all night to do a step, ’cause the penis, y’know, had little feet and eyes.”
Kanye’s Work Ethic: “People ask me a lot about my drive. I think it comes from, like, having a sexual addiction at a really young age. Look at the drive that people have to get sex—to dress like this and get a haircut and be in the club in the freezing cold at 3 A.M., the places they go to pick up a girl. If you can focus the energy into something valuable, put that into work ethic.”
Kanye on Gays: “Titles are very important. I like to embody titles, y’know, or words that have negative connotations, and explain why that’s good,” he says. “Take the word gay—like, in hip-hop, that’s a negative thing, right? But in the past two, three years, all the gay people I’ve encountered have been, like, really, really, extremely dope. Y’know, I haven’t, like, gone to a gay bar, nor do I ever plan to. But where I would talk to a gay person—the conversation would be mostly around, like, art or design—it’d be really dope. From a design standpoint, kids’ll say, ‘Dude, those pants are gay.’ But if it’s, like, good, good, good fashion-level, design-level stuff, where it’s on a higher level than the average commercial design stuff, it’s, like, gay people that do that. I think that should be said as a compliment. Like, ‘Dude, that’s so good it’s almost . . . gay.’”

The Olsen Twins Still Watch 'Full House'
Posted on 16. Feb, 2009 by CSS.
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen still watch old episodes of Full House, the 80’s-90’s sitcom on which they launched their careers in showbiz.
The 22-year-old twins shared the part of “Michelle” on the hit series from nine months old to age 8.
“Full House is on all the time. Really. I see that it’s on. But last year, Ashley spent the night at my place and I woke up to the theme song at seven in the morning,” MK reveals in the March issue of Interview.
She also revealed Full House producers used bribery to get a young Mary-Kate and Ashley to complete their scenes.
“We would get little gummy bears – like a gummy bear cut into three pieces. And we’d crawl to the gummy bear or reach for it. The outtakes of Full House are pretty funny.”
“We basically learned how to talk in front of the cameras by copying somebody else’s words or movements.”

Lily Allen: "Parents Should Encourage Kids To Try Drugs"
Posted on 16. Feb, 2009 by CSS.

Yup, you read the headline right…
Lily Allen has sparked outrage by encouraging parents to tell their children to try illegal drugs.
The British singing star believes hard drugs, like cocaine and ecstasy, may not harm users, and insists parents should allow their youngsters to experiment.
In an interview with Dutch magazine Revu, Lily says, “Parents should say, ‘Drugs might seem fun but they do funny things to your brain. Some people react to it good, some don’t. Try it and see what you think.’ If I hadn’t been famous I’d have taken loads. Wouldn’t be too wise right now. I’ve never been good with cocaine or drugs like that.”
Was she high when she made this statement?
“I steer clear of heroin or crack,” Lily added.
Well, that’s reassuring.
In January, Lily was forced to issue a statement clarifying her stance on drugs after she was quoted in interview noting that she knows people who “take cocaine three nights a week and get up and go to work everyday, no problem.”

Jay-Z is standing up for his artist Rihanna by calling on fans to think of the singer as a family member who has been the victim of domestic violence.
Rihanna was allegedly attacked by longtime boyfriend Chris Brown, 19, in Los Angeles last Sunday. The R&B singer was arrested and charged with felony counts of making criminal threats.
“You have to have compassion for others,” the hip-hop mogaul, who helped the 20-year-old Barbadian beauty launch her career, told People Magazine on Saturday. “Just imagine it being your sister or mom and then think about how we should talk about that.”
“I just think we should all support her. She’s going through a tough time,” Jay-Z said. “You have to realize she’s a young girl, as well. She’s very young.”

Chris Brown Releases Statement On Rihanna Assault, Says He Is Sorry.
Posted on 15. Feb, 2009 by CSS.
On Sunday, disgraced R&B crooner Chris Brown released his first public statement addressing allegations that he savagely attacked girlfriend Rihanna, 20, in Los Angeles last weekend.
“Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired. I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God’s help, to emerging a better person.”
“Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and/or reported in the media is wrong. While I would like to be able to talk about this more, until the legal issues are resolved, this is all I can say except that I have not written any messages or made any posts to Facebook, on blogs or any place else.”
“Those posts or writings under my name are frauds,” the statement concludes.
The 19-year-old was arrested on felony charges of making criminal threats and may face additional charges from the district attorney.

Rihanna Back In Barbados To Heal.
Posted on 15. Feb, 2009 by CSS.
Rihanna’s father Ronald Fenty spoke to PEOPLE Magazine in regards to his daughter and how he thought he knew Chris Brown:
Rihanna has returned to the comfort of home to heal.
The R&B star is back in her native Barbados with her family and friends as she recuperates from what police sources have said was a vicious attack at the hands of boyfriend Chris Brown.
“There is some bruising. She will be all right. I think so,” her father, Ronald Fenty, told PEOPLE Magazine after seeing his daughter on Friday.
Fenty added that he hopes his 20-year-old daughter would “move on” from dating Brown.
“At some point, she will speak out. I hope she will stand up for women all over the world.”
Fenty said that he “didn’t believe when he heard that his daughter had been roughed up. “You think you know somebody,” he said of Brown, “but you really don’t.”
The 55-year-old salesman and designer said he last saw his daughter and Brown together in July. “They seemed pretty happy,” he recalls. “I don’t know what went wrong.”

Taraji Henson Has Quite A Story To Tell!
Posted on 14. Feb, 2009 by CSS.
Oscar-nominated for her role in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Taraji P. Henson would seem to be on a career-high. Then she gave a very humble interview where she said that even though she’s Oscar-nominated this year, she’s still struggling to find work. Now more of Taraji’s personal story of struggle, murder and hard work is being told.
Taraji was in her third year as a theatre major at Howard University when she became pregnant by her boyfriend, William Johnson. Taraji didn’t drop out of school when she became pregnant, instead finishing her degree. Her son Marcel was born in 1995. His father was brutally murdered in 1997. Star magazine has more:
Taraji P. Henson is earning accolades as Brad Pitt’s mother in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, but her real-life story of being a single mom who had to overcome poverty and the murder of her son’s father to make it in Hollywood is even more compelling.
In the Feb. 23 issue of Star — on sale now — we detail the actress’ rough road to stardom, including how she became pregnant by her then-boyfriend William Johnson during her junior year as a theater major in college. The driven mom-to-be continued to perform in school productions — including singing and dancing in Dreamgirls during her second trimester — in hopes of becoming a working actor.
An unexpected pregnancy was one of many challenges, we report in our story. Her son Marcell’s father was violently murdered — and Taraji found herself struggling, so she went on welfare. Fortunately, she had enough strength to see them both through those dark days and her efforts paid off — she’s up for a best supporting Oscar for her Button role on Feb. 22 and 14-year-old Marcell is blossoming in high school.
“Taraji is a wonderful person and an excellent mother,” Marcell’s grandmother, Magrissa Johnson — William’s mom — tells Star.
-From Star Magazine
Last night Taraji won the NAACP Image award for Best Supporting Actress for her work in Benjamin Button. She is an award-winning actress with an incredible personal story. I hope she’s an actress we see a lot more of in the years to come. I loved her on Eli Stone!

Chris Brown's Father Makes Excuses For Son & Angers Me In The Process!
Posted on 14. Feb, 2009 by CSS.
Chris Brown’s biological father has broken his silence on the R&B star’s weekend arrest for suspicion of making criminal threats against pop star Rihanna.
The 19-year-old “Kiss Kiss” singer is under police investigation for allegedly beating the “Shut Up and Drive” star in Los Angeles last Sunday.
“He’s reflecting on this situation,” Clinton Brown, who is a correctional officer in Tappahannock, Va, told PEOPLE Magazine on Friday. “He’s very remorseful. He’s very concerned about the situation and he wants to make sure that [Rihanna’s] okay.”
“This is unfortunate, this stumble, this situation,” Clinton added. “Hopefully, he will get past it. We all have our shortcomings. We all trip.”
“If you are on his side, you are on his side. Just because someone trips, if you are truly a fan, you are not going to demonize him instantaneously.”
Wow… I think it is irresponsible to release a statement to this effect. The fact of the matter is Chris Brown put his hands on Rihanna and caused intense physical not too mention emotional damage- and to just try and cast it aside as a ‘trip up’ – I’m sorry that is no ‘trip-up’ anyone should let fly or overlook- you don’t beat a girl, you just don’t do it! And for his father to say ‘if your truly a fan’ – That is sending the wrong message here to hundreds of thousands of girls who prior to this idolized Chris- it’s saying that if you really dig his music than you will let this slide- That is the worst message you could possibly send, “That Abuse is Okay, If You Like His Music” I mean COME ON!!!

Mickey Rourke Would Rather Be On A Deserted Island With A Gorilla Than Couple Up With Courtney Love!
Posted on 14. Feb, 2009 by CSS.
What are the odds of Mickey Rourke hooking up with grammatically-challenged bad ass Courtney Love?
Apparently, not so good.
While being photographed and videotaped on the streets of London Friday, the Oscar-nominated star responded to recent rumors that he is dating the former front lady of Hole.
“I’d rather be on a deserted island with a gorilla,” Mickey retorted.
Well, at least he’s honest!
On Wednesday, Britain’s Mirror reported that Mickey and Courtney began dated after he asked her out on a date following his Golden Globe win last month.
Is it safe to say that Courtney won’t be escorting Mickey to the Academy Awards next weekend?!?
Something tells me we’ll be reading some ineligible blog posting from Ms. Love dissing Mr. Rourke any day now…

Shonda Rhimes Says: T.R. Knight & Katherine Heigl Not Leaving "Grey's Anatomy"
Posted on 14. Feb, 2009 by CSS.
Are Katherine Heigl and T.R. Knight checking out of Seattle Grace Hospital?
Not so, according to Grey’s Anatomy creator/executive producer Shonda Rhimes.
In an interview earlier this week, James Pickens Jr., who plays Chief of Surgery Dr. Richard Webber on the ABC medical drama, indictated that the stars would be exiting the show. Rhimes says, contrary to the report, T.R. and Katherine are not leaving the show.
“That was a very interesting rumor. And it’s not true,” she told the press at Thursday’s NAACP Image Awards. “You know I don’t like to tell you what’s going to happen on the show, but that is a rumor.”
If it’s not true, she better start giving T.R. some more screen time! I was watching the show last night and when T.R. finally popped into a scene I literally thought to myself “I forgot he was on this show” which is silly bc I know he is- but he is never on screen anymore!
I’m guessing that they really are leaving and she just doesn’t want us too know- bc if we know Katherine is leaving then we will know Izzie really is going to die….
