‘Friends’ Cast To Reunite For Movie
Posted on 05. Oct, 2009 by CSS.

The cast of Friends is reuniting to bring one of television’s biggest hits of the ’90s to the big screen, according to former series star James Michael Tyler.
The sitcom ended in 2004 after 10 seasons, and now the show’s six core cast members – David Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and Matthew Perry – are planning on starring in a film adaptation of the show that made them stars, according to Tyler, who played Central Perk employee Gunther on the series.
“Friends: The Movie is definitely on. I still keep in touch with a lot of the cast and they say that they are really keen. I am definitely on board to do the film,” Tyler told Britain’s News Of The World back in September. “I really loved my time on the show and I am looking forward to meeting up with the old gang again. I just hope we can do justice to the show in a film.”
The show’s original creators, David Crane and Marta Kauffman, have reportedly been drafted in to write and produce the movie, a second source tells the publication.
“Everyone knew the story had to be right and well written. Getting the creators on board was a massive step forward for the project. The show did lose a lot of its shine in the last few seasons, but with the actors all in the forties it would be a real interest to see how their characters have developed.”
Friends: The Movie is set to hit theaters in the Summer 2011. I am a huge Friends fan so this news is super exciting, however, I’m a little cautious to fully believe it until I hear some of the major players confirming this.

Rupert Grint & Robert Pattinson In The Running To Play Prince Harry In ‘The Spare’
Posted on 03. Oct, 2009 by CSS.

Robert Pattinson and Rupert Grint are competing for the role of Prince Harry in a biopic about the British monarch’s life.
Director Peter Kosminsky — who will helm the project — is casting for The Spare, which will depict pivotal points in Harry’s life, including losing his mother Princess Diana, his romance with on again/off again flame Chelsy Davy, and serving for the Army in Afghanistan.
The White Oleander lensman is courting British actors Grint and Pattinson for the lead role, as well as Pride and Prejudice star Rupert Friend, according to a report from London’s Daily Star.
“I feel a sense of compassion for the guy (Prince Harry). His parents break up in the most spectacularly public way, his mother dies in the most tragic and, again, public way and everything is picked over. He’s a man born to no role. His brother’s the heir and Harry’s the spare,” Kosminsky explains.

Lauren Conrads Book “L.A. Candy” Movie Rights Purchased By “Twilight” Producers
Posted on 01. Oct, 2009 by CSS.

Lauren Conrad’s bestselling semi-autobiographical debut novel is being adapted for the big screen, Variety reported Tuesday.
Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey, executive producers of Twilight, have purchased the film rights to the book through their Temple Hill company. Lauren is expected to serve as an executive producer.
L.A. Candy was inspired by the socialite’s experiences as star of the popular MTV docudrama. It follows 19-year-old Jane Roberts from her arrival in Hollywood through the height of her fame as a reality TV star. Lauren is set to pen two more books featuring Jane under the Harper-Collins imprint.
“Lauren, who became an icon in that reality show world, came to us with a structure of how to tell the story in an interesting fashion that was separate and apart from the book,” Bowen told Variety Tuesday. “We loved her take. Her book is an honest portrayal of what it must be like to set out to be normal, then sign on to become famous and eventually realize, wow, this isn’t at all what I’d planned for myself.”

Kristin Davis Originally Auditioned For Carrie Bradshaw Role In “Sex And The City”
Posted on 01. Oct, 2009 by CSS.

Kristin Davis initially tried out for the part of Carrie Bradshaw before landing the role of straight-laced Uptown Girl Charlotte York on Sex And The City.
The 44-year-old has played Charlotte on the hit HBO series as well as in its two subsequent movie incarnations since 1998.
Davis met Sex creator Darren Star in 1995 when she played the devious Brooke Armstrong for one season on Melrose Place, where he was executive producer. A couple of years later, Star invited her to audition for the role of the sex columnist, Kristin claims. She said that the original role of Carrie – eventually portrayed by Sarah Jessica Parker – was “very different” from the one viewers saw.
Kristin tells The Age: “Honestly, none of the four of us are so jaded that we take it for granted. It is amazing that we still get to work together. We are sitting around the same table and chairs as we were in 1997. It still feels right.”
Sex And The City 2 opens in theaters in May 2010.

Universal Announces Plans To Make ‘Barbie’ Movie
Posted on 24. Sep, 2009 by CSS.

Barbie is leaving her dream house for a new life in Hollywood. The 50-year-old doll is on her way to the big screen.
After months of negotiations, Universal has acquired the right to create the first live-action feature starring Barbie, Variety reported Thursday. Laurence Mark, whose credits include Jerry Maguire and Julie & Julia, is producing the film.
“Barbie may be the most popular girl in the world,” Universal Pictures chairman Marc Shmuger told the trade paper.
Barbie has previously been featured only in an assortment of animated direct-to-DVD films, as well as several video games. It is unclear how the famed toy will translate to a feature-length movie. Barbie, full name Barbara Millicent Roberts, is sometimes a high school teen, sometimes a pilot, teacher, or astronaut; and boasts a fleet of cars.
