Jennifer Aniston’s latest film, Marley & Me, beat out ex-husband Brad Pitt’s Oscar favorite, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, at the box office Thursday, scoring the all-time best Christmas Day opening, according to preliminary box office numbers.

The canine-centered romantic comedy, based on the bestselling novel about a loveable but incorrigible Lab Retriever, opened at all-time Christmas No. 1 with $14.75 million in ticket sales. The previous record was held by the 2002 film Ali, which earned $10.2 million.

Brad’s film The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button followed in second with $11.8 million. In at third was Adam Sandler’s new Disney comedy Bedtime Stories, which earned $10.4 million in sales, followed by Valkyrie starring Tom Cruise with $8.5 million. Jim Carrey’s Yes Man rounded out the top 5 with $5.9 million.

That’s pretty cool if you look at it- three movies broke a record Christmas Day! Even Though Jennifer & Owen Wilson came out on top, Brad and Adam should be happy with there box office earnings!

Don’t feel bad if your weekend didn’t include a trip to the theater to check out Hollywood’s latest animated adventure, Delgo–neither did anyone else’s.

The movie broke a record for having the worst opening ever for a film in wide release. Ouch.

According to Yahoo! Movies, Delgo, a reptilian love story voiced by Freddie Prinze Jr., Jennifer Love Hewitt, Val Kilmer, Kelly Ripa, and Burt Reynolds, took in a lousy $511,920 on 2,160 screens over the weekend.

I had a hard enough time just sitting through the trailer!! This movie looks like a computer game…

Clive Owen Film Set To Open The Berlin Film Festival.

Clive Owen is one of those rare actors who almost always makes good, interesting films. I’m hard-pressed to think of one Clive Owen film where it seemed like he was phoning it in. So with that in mind, imagine a Clive Owen film where he runs around fighting international crime in the forms of gun-runners and *cue dramatic music* white-collar crooks. Thus, The International, a film directed by Tom Tykwer and co-starring Naomi Watts. The International will be the opening film of the Berlin Film Festival, which begins February 5.

Tom Tykwer’s “The International,” an action thriller starring Clive Owen and Naomi Watts, will open the 59th Berlin International Film Festival on February 5.

Screening out of competition, the feature will be Tykwer’s second Berlinale opening, following “Heaven,” which bowed at the 2002 event.

But unlike “Heaven,” which was an art-house film more along the lines of Tykwer’s “Winter Sleepers” (1997) or “The Princess and the Warrior” (2000), “The International” marks the German director’s jump into the major leagues.

The director of indie hit “Run, Lola, Run” (1998) proved he could handle a big budget with his last picture, the opulent olfactory epic “Perfume: The Story of a Murderer” (2006). But “The International” is Tywker’s first film with a U.S. studio. Sony co-produced with Germany’s Studio Babelsberg and will release the film in Germany February 12 and stateside, via Columbia Pictures, February 13.

“The International” is also Tykwer’s first all-out action movie. The conspiracy thriller follows Owen as an Interpol agent who discovers that the world’s largest bank is secretly engaging in money laundering and illegal arms trading. Watts co-stars as a Manhattan assistant district attorney who joins Owen on his race around the world to bring those responsible to justice.

The film was shot largely in Berlin and Studio Babelsberg with location work in New York, Istanbul and Milan.

The 59th Berlinale runs February 5-15, 2009.

Marisa Tomei Watched VH1's 'Rock of Love' To Prepare For Role As Stripper.

In “The Wrestler,” actress Marisa Tomei plays the stripper girlfriend of an aging wrestler played by Mickey Rourke. Marisa, 44, says she prepared for the raunchy role by taking pole dancing lessons and watching the skanky hos on the VH1 reality show, “Rock of Love.”

Oscar winner MARISA TOMEI studied rocker BRET MICHAELS’ raunchy reality show ROCK OF LOVE as part of her stripper research for new movie THE WRESTLER.

The actress tried pole dancing too – just to make sure she’d look authentic in her film debut as an exotic dancer.

She explains, “I had a friend who is a yoga teacher and she does a lot of pole dancing so I asked her to teach me. I went to a lot of clubs and watched to see the different styles of dancing.

“I would practice in a dance room with a bar and a mirror, like a ballet studio. I watched Rock of Love, that reality show with Bret Michaels, where he’s trying to get a wife and they’re all strippers. That was my closest association to the actual world of it.”

And her brief flirtation with the world of the stripper has brought Tomei a new love: “I like going to strip clubs now.”

-From Contact Music

Well, it’s nice to know that piece of garbage show isn’t totally useless. I’ve always liked Marisa – she’s a talented actress. Early buzz is that Mickey Rourke’s performance is a powerhouse in this movie. He plays a professional wrestler – based on Hulk Hogan and Randy “Macho Man ” Savage who is trying to make a comeback – sort of like Rocky. If it sounds like a stinker, keep in mind that the director is Darren Aronofsky, the director behind “Requiem for a Dream,” “Pi” and “The Fountain.” So, if nothing else, it will be a great looking stinker about pro wrestling and stripping.
