Elton John Hospitalized

Elton John has been forced to cancel a string of concerts after he was diagnosed with an E. coli bacterial infection and influenza.
The legendary British singer, 62, has been seriously ill for two weeks, but his condition worsened and he was taken into an elite London hospital on Friday for tests.
On doctor’s advice the “Rocketman” singer has postponed US tour dates in Seattle and Portland, where he was scheduled to perform with Billy Joel over the next two weeks.
“The Elton John/Billy Joel Face 2 Face concerts originally scheduled for Wednesday, November 4, Saturday, November 7, and Tuesday, November 10, have been postponed,” a spokesperson said. “Organizers are working to establish new dates.”

Dennis Hopper Battling Prostate Cancer

Actor Dennis Hopper has been diagnosed with prostate cancer and is canceling all travel plans to focus on treatment, a rep for the screen legend told The Associated Press Thursday evening.
The 73-year-old Oscar nominee is calling off his travel plans in order to receive treatment in a “special program” at the University of Southern California, Hopper’s manager Sam Maydew tells The AP.
“We’re hoping for the best,” Maydew says of the Hopper’s prognosis.
Hopper was forced to cancel his appearance at an exhibition at the Australian Center for the Moving Image in Melbourne called “Dennis Hopper and the New Hollywood,” a collection of artwork and photography by the actor.
Hopper — who hospitalized with the flu in August– recently finished shooting the second season of his Starz drama Crash. He also has several film projects in the works.

Swine flu has come to Wisteria Lane!
The set of Desperate Housewives is on swine flu alert this Wednesday, after series star star Teri Hatcher informed the show that she was recently diagnosed with the potentially fatal H1N1 virus.
Teri’s diagnosis comes at crunch time for the top-rated ABC drama, which had been shooting scenes for the commuter plane that is expected to kill off several characters. Scenes with the entire cast have had to be rescheduled while Teri recuperates.

Jennifer Aniston’s Beloved Dog Norman Sick

Jennifer Aniston is sick with worry over the health her beloved dog, Norman.
The 14-year-old Corgi-Terrier, is one of the most pampered pooches in Hollywood, but Norman was recently diagnosed with a potentially life-threatening digestive problem, according to OK! Magazine.
“Norman is old and hasn”t been doing well. She’’s terrified her best friend could soon be gone,” a tipster divulged.
The 40-year-old actress is very fond of animals and also has a three-year-old white German shepherd named Dolly.
Jen spoke of her bond with her pets earlier in the year, saying: “You have to say goodbye way too soon. It’’s just so sad. It makes me so sad. But their love is unconditional and I love that.”

The mother of a Florida teen lit on fire and seriously burned in a retaliatory squabble over video games and a bike says her son was “petrified” of the boys at his school.
Five teenagers in Deerfield Beach, Florida have been arrested and charged with dousing 15-year-old Michael Brewer with alcohol and setting him on fire on Tuesday. Michael tore off his shirt and jumped into an apartment complex pool after being set ablaze The young man was burned over 80% of his body, with many of the scars covering his torso and arms. Michael remains hospitalized at Jackson Memorial Hospital’s burn center, where he is listed in critical condition with mostly second-degree burns.
Some of the teens charged in the attack laughed when investigators confronted them, a spokesperson for the Broward County Sheriff’s Office said.
Just proof that some children are NOT our future. I can’t imagine anyone being so cruel. This is definitely a case where the juvenile offenders should be charged as adults. They knew exactly what they were doing. Praying Michael recovers — physically and emotionally.

Elizabeth Taylor Takes To Her Twitter Account For More Health Updates

Dame Elizabeth Taylor has taken to her Twitter page to alert fans that she is recovering nicely after undergoing heart surgery earlier week.
“Dear Friends, My heart procedure went off perfectly. It’s like having a brand new ticker,” Miss. Liz wrote on Twitter yesterday afternoon. “Thank you for your prayers and good wishes… I know they all helped.”
The 77-year-old screen legend also used the micro-blogging website to announce that she would be checking into the hospital for the heart procedure.
“Dear Friends, I would like to let you know before it gets in the papers that I am going into the hospital to have a procedure on my heart,” she wrote on Tuesday afternoon. “It’s very new and involves repairing my leaky valve using a clip device, without open heart surgery, so that my heart will function better.”

Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay will not continue competing on the ninth season of Dancing With The Stars after suffering stress fractures in both feet, the tough Texan announced during Tuesday night’s Results Show.
Although the congressman and his professional partner Cheryl Burke earned enough votes with their samba performance to make it to Week 4, Tom has bowed out of the competition at the urging of physicans and series producers.
“No, I won’t [continue],” an emotional Tom explained. “You can’t practice, and if you can’t practice you’ll make a fool of yourself out here and I don’t want to do that to Cheryl because she’s so great.”

On Tuesday, screen legend Dame Elizabeth Taylor announced via Twitter that she will undergo surgery on her heart later this afternoon
The Hollywood legend asked fans for their well-wishes before heading into surgery.
“Dear Friends, I would like to let you know before it gets in the papers that I am going into the hospital to have a procedure on my heart,” Liz wrote, later adding, “It’s very new and involves repairing my leaky valve using a clip device, without open-heart surgery, so that my heart will function better.”
“Any prayers you happen to have lying around I would dearly appreciate. I’ll let you know when it’s all over. Love you, Elizabeth.”

David Boreanaz Shuts Down Shooting On “Bones” Due To Possible Swine Flue

Fears over a possible swine flu outbreak in the United States hit the set of the FOX forensic comedy-drama Bones on Monday. Production on the popular series was shut down for one day after star David Boreanaz became ill with swine flu-like symptoms.
“First time in ‘Bones’ history we are shut down from production,” “Bones” creator Hart Hanson Tweeted. “Damn swine flu! That’s gonna cut into Christmas hiatus.”
But spokesperson for 20th Century Fox TV, which produces the show, downplayed the swine flu stoppage in a statement released late Monday.
“David is out with the flu and the show shut down today since he was in every scene. We hope to resume production tomorrow.”

Backstreet Boy Brian Littrell Down With Swine Flu

The Backstreet Boys have been forced to cancel a series of scheduled appearance in New York this week — including a performance on The Early Show Tuesday and a guest spot at NYC PINKTOBER at the Hard Rock Café –after member Brian Littrell was recently diagnosed with swine flu.
According to a statement released Monday, fellow BSB members Nick Carter, Howie Dorough and AJ McLean, as well as the band’s traveling entourage, have all met with a doctor and are not currently showing any symptoms of the highly contagious flu, known as H1N1. However, doctors have prescribed Tamiflu to the group and their touring party as a preventive measure.
An upcoming appearance on Ellen has also been scrapped.
The news was announced via the band’s website — on it, Brian writes: “We were really looking forward to spending time with our closest fans and friends in NYC and take part of PINKTOBER, an unbelievable and important program. I hope we can come back soon and do everything we can to help.”
In 1998, the 34-year-old singer underwent open-heart surgery to correct a lifelong heart murmur. Poor guy — get well son, Brian!
