Michael Phelps "TODAY Show" Interview With Matt Lauer

In an interview with The Today Show’s Matt Lauer, Olympic champion Michael Phelps speaks out about the now infamous photo of him smoking marijuana from a bong.

“It was– really, you know, the people I hurt, you know, is my family, clearly. My friends,” he says. “The close people around me. And most importantly, the fans. And– and, you know, I realize that that hurt a lot of people.”

While the 23-year-old admits that what he did was “bad judgement” and “a mistake,” he insists he and his friends were just celebrating: “I mean, we were just celebrating, honestly. And– you know, there was probably two or three people there I didn’t know. It was a very small group. Six or seven people probably total in the whole house. Like nothing major. You know, not like a giant college house party. It was nothing like that. It was just a small group and we were just sitting around and celebrating.”

Howard K. Stern Arrested In Anna Nicole Drug Conspiracy

Anna Nicole Smith’s former companion Howard K. Stern and two doctors were charged Thursday with conspiracy to furnish Smith with drugs before she died in 2007 of an overdose.

The 40-year-old attorney was arrested in L.A. and booked. He was released on $20,000 bail.

Another Public Fight For Lovers Samantha Ronson & Lindsay Lohan: Vegas Edition

Lindsay Lohan had another fight with girlfriend Samantha Ronson in Las Vegas this week.

The Mean Girls actress had planned to surprise her DJ lover with a romantic night in a hotel in Las Vegas after she finished her set at Prive nightclub but was left enraged when Samantha left the club without her.

“The two started to argue and hide in the DJ booth. While she was in the booth, Lindsay ducked down, popped up a few seconds later, and began dancing wildly,” one spywitness squeals.

“I can’t believe that fucking bitch left me!” LiLo allegedly screamed.

Samantha had planned to go to the club alone and was none too pleased when Lindsay showed up at 1am. Samantha left the club at 3am and got into her Porsche, driving home to L.A. alone. Lindsay subsequently jumped into her black Mercedes and sped off in hot pursuit of Samantha.

A photographer, who was also on the scene, reveals: “I’m sure the girls drove back to Los Angeles. Lindsay definitely appeared to be messed up on something, that’s for sure. I’ve covered Lindsay for years and this is almost the worst I’ve ever seen her, it looks like her life is spinning out of control.”

Britney Spears "Circus" Tour Dancers Fired For Drug Use

Britney Spears’s handlers have fired three dancers on her comeback Circus Tour for suspected drug use.

Larry Rudolph, Britney’s longtime manager, and her father Jamie Spears, are determined to keep the star away from the dangerous substances that contributed to her 2009 emotional breakdown.

“Because of Britney’s past personal problems she now requires more insurance for her ‘Circus’ tour than before,” an insider tells The Mirror. “It’s a very rigorous process protecting all of those assets. Backstage her dad is beyond strict and rightfully so. He only wants the best for Britney.”

“He’s protecting Britney’s comeback with every ounce of his being,” the spy adds.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers Checks Back Into Rehab

Jonathan Rhys is back in rehab. By most estimates, this is the third time that Jonathan has seriously tried to deal with his alcohol (and drug?) problems by checking into some kind of formal facility, this time in England. Irish Independent was the first paper to announce Meyers’ rehab stay – it’s his hometown paper, and they seem to use the guy’s biography as a way to explain the multiple rehab visits. It’s interesting though.

Irish Independent claims that Meyers’ first rehab stint was in America, years ago. Then came a second, brief two-week stay in England. Last year, Meyers was arrested at an airport for a “drunken outburst”, but it was later explained that his mother had just died, so most people gave the guy a break. In most of his public appearance in the last year, Meyers has been looking coked out of his mind. Although, that could just be the way his eyes are. Irish Independent has more details:

It’s an all-too-familiar tale: a star goes off the rails with a bang and has to hit rock bottom before he or she can finally help themselves…some celebrities have found that their biggest battle is with their own demons.

Irish actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers is now a fully paid-up member of the club. The “The Tudors” star is reported to have recently checked into rehab in the UK in a bid to deal with a drink problem.

Suspicions arose when the Cork-reared actor failed to show at the IFTAs in Dublin earlier this month, where his acclaimed TV series The Tudors won 10 awards. The day before, he was allegedly spotted buying spirits in London. He also missed the Oscar Wilde Awards in LA, the annual celebration of the Irish in Hollywood, which is staged just before the Oscars.

Before filming the last series of The Tudors, producers insisted that he steer clear of alcohol, with his behaviour monitored by minders.

“He is one of the nicest guys in the world, he’s a pleasure to work with,” revealed a Tudors insider. “He has his demons all right, and he’s trying to cope with them as best he can. I couldn’t have coped with even 2pc of what’s being written about him. He is also great with children. If any kids ever come on the set he’s really nice to them. He gets down and talks to them face to face and makes sure they get autographs and whatever they want. He’s brilliant that way.”

The next series of The Tudors won’t start filming here until June, which should give him a chance to get back on track. His natural father John O‘Keeffe, who lives in Spain and separated from Jonathan’s mum when he was a child, has appealed to Jonathan to sort out his problems. Part of the problem may be his upbringing. John left Jonathan’s mum Geraldine when the boy was just three. He moved to England, taking two of their four boys with him, leaving Geraldine to raise Jonathan and another brother.

He had a troubled childhood, spending time in an orphanage and being expelled from school. His mother, who he loved dearly, drank a lot and didn’t seem to be able to cope with him properly.

[His] career took off but problems soon surfaced. A friend said: “Jonny had always been on the brink of going off the rails. He had a difficult childhood and he’s screwed up and wild.” He later spent time in rehab in both the United States and the UK.

“I didn’t start drinking until I was 25. Since then I’ve been drunk maybe a dozen and a half times. When I do I’m like Bambi. I’m all over the place, hopeless, like a 16-year-old kid. People notice,” said Jonathan.

And they did indeed notice when he turned up in Dublin in November 2007, after apparently enjoying an all-night session. He was arrested by Gardai and charged with being drunk and in breach of the peace.

In London the next day he was pictured with an early morning can of cider in his hand. Then came the news that his mother had died in Cork County, aged just 50. Heartbroken Jonathan flew back for the funeral, where he was comforted by, among others, his old acting pal Colin Farrell.

Jonathan has also been linked to a long series of beauties from socialite and model Cha Cha Seigne, who friends say remains the love of his life, to actress Toni Collette and an on/off affair with heiress Reena Hammer.

He is also a huge gay icon, and has no trouble playing gay roles. He said: “I’d actually love to do more gay parts. I want to play people like Rock Hudson and Montgomery Clift.”

I hope this visit takes, but something tells me it won’t. I really believe that as far as drug and alcohol addiction goes, the addict truly has to hit rock bottom before they really take their addiction, rehabilitation and life-long struggle seriously. I’ve always thought that was one of the biggest problems successful actors have with their addictions – they are often trying to battle while still having a job, getting good press, making money. It’s hard to hit rock bottom when you’ve got everyone supporting you and doing for you. Just my take – and I hope I’m wrong. Meyers is a gifted actor, and I hope we can enjoy his work for years to come.

Criss Angel No Longer MindFreaking Holly Madison

The Mindfreak illusionist and Hugh Hefner’s former Girl Next Door have called it quits after nearly four months of dating.

The amicable separation has been blamed on a “conflict of schedules.”

“She was very much in love with him, and they’re still very close friends,” a source close to the former couple told E! News on Thursday.

“It was a conflict of schedules. She felt she couldn’t devote 100 percent of her time in Vegas and his career at the expense of her career and her goals.”

Holly, 29, recently moved out of the Las Vegas home she had been sharing with Criss. She is now living with family.

I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that the break-up had to do with the photos released of the couple over Valentines day looking totally drugged the heck out!!

Lindsay Step Away From The Cocaine- Seriously!!

Lindsay Lohan hasn’t been in good shape for a while, but people are really taking notice after a really weird interview Lohan did at some point during Oscar night.

Lohan seems both disoriented and hyper. She talks about her “friend” Penelope Cruz. Yeah, right. Lohan and Penelope totally hang out. I can just see it. Penelope and Javier Bardem cavorting on a beach, with Lohan covertly snorting something on a beach towel.

Lohan also talks about how many meetings she’s taking with movie producers. If the LA Times “The Envelope” blog is any kind of representative of what mainstream Hollywood thinks (and it is), Lohan isn’t getting those meetings. At this point, she’s just another train wreck that can’t get a job. The video is above, and here’s what the LA Times has to say about it:

Call me crazy, but after watching this video of Lohan babbling about her exciting new projects, the stress of which, she hints, might be causing her weight loss, I am more than a little worried about her.

Her new diamond jewelry and spray tan lines will no doubt do as well as her leggings line.

Seriously, who would buy spray tan from a girl who has turned up looking like an Oompa-Loompa at so many events?

And how about the matching “women empowerment” tattoos that she and Lily Allen recently got together, which, giggle giggle, they had, like, no idea that Rihanna had the same one, I mean, how random is that?

And why are her hands flying all over her face and into her hair during this interview?

Why is she talking in a conspiratorial whisper and looking around nervously?

Are you thinking what I’m thinking?

It could explain all the nasty fights with Sam and why Sam is once again distancing herself from La Lohan.

I’m thinking LiLo should pull a Betty Ford and start a Lohan International House of Rehab chain where you can take yoga classes once a week. They could even offer family discounts! The marketing possibilities are endless.

Why are we so afraid of saying that the girl’s back on nose candy? It’s tragic. What the hell is Sam Ronson doing? Is Sam Lohan’s enabler or her crutch? Is Sam the one who is paying for all of the nose candy? This chick needs major help!

I think LA Times nailed it best with the “Lohan International House of Rehab” – that got me laughing!!

TMZ has video of Sam and Lindsay looking like they’re having a post Oscar tiff. Sam storms out of the limo while Lindsay acts like everything is ok. She then goes inside and you can hear what sounds like the start of an argument – or the continuation of one.

Martha Stewarts Ploy For Higher Ratings: A Show About 'Pot'

According to Entertainment Weekly, Martha’s doing an entire show about pot. With some tired jokes to go along with it. It’ll have Jimmy Fallon bringing Martha brownies! And joking about Michael Phelps! And there will even be a discussion about pot bellied pigs.

Attention, stoners! It seems somebody has finally given Martha Stewart the right kind of viewer research—you know, the kind that lets her know that plennnnty of you are at home watching her daytime talk show and hittin’ the pipe on a regular basis. At least, that’s my guess after receiving an e-mail this morning that included an announcement that next Monday’s episode of The Martha Stewart Show will be “entirely dedicated to the world of pot.”

I’m not really sure how this will go over with Martha’s dedicated fan base of type-A closet reorganizers and guppies in search of the perfect cassoulet recipe—I mean, do those people even know what pot is?—but the e-mail release had some pretty smokin’ (sorry) teasers. For instance, Monday’s episode will feature Martha talking about her stash of pots while an onscreen crawl highlights every word she uses that includes “pot.” She’ll hang out with some pot-bellied pigs, chat with some professional plant potters, and welcome guest Jimmy Fallon, who brings Martha a plate of brownies upon entrance (while cracking an already-tired Michael Phelps joke) and later cooks his favorite chili in, yep, a Crock-Pot.

Haha. Pot. Get it? You know, this isn’t the first time our Martha has flirted with pot culture—plenty of us recall our jaws hitting the floor when she made her uproarious appearance alongside Busta Rhymes at the 1997 Video Music Awards. For all the times we’ve heard rumors of nasty, cutthroat behavior, Martha’s her own best lampoonist, and it’s pretty admirable that she plays along so well. Or maybe, after all those months in prison, the girl’s just got a need for weed. Weed HUMOR, I mean! (Seriously, Martha, don’t sue me. I in no way presume that you toke up on a regular basis.)

Fashion Face Off: Eva Longoria Vs. Lindsay Lohan

Eva Longoria wore this dress for the ‘Lingerie Miami’ Benefit on February 7.  Lindsay wore hers February 15 in NYC.  I think hands down the winner here is Eva.  Eva just looks so beautiful in the dress while Lezlo totally effed it up with the stockings and the choice in shoes! Had she not made those wardrobe choices, I think it could have been a close call- what do you think?

Update:

After seeing Lindsay’s photo upclose and personal I have to recant my earlier statement: There is NO WAY it could have been a close call, even without the stockings and shoes!!- I mean seriously WTF is going on with her? She looks like a walking anti-drug advertisent- go ahead and add anti-plastic surgery to that as well!!

If she thinks that’s ‘What’s Hot’ It’s definitely not!!!!!

What a mess…
