New Excerpt From Andre Agassi’s Book Hits The Internet, Agassi Lied To Tennis Officials About Crystal Meth Use
Posted on 28. Oct, 2009 by CSS.
Andre Agassi’s upcoming autobiography, Open, available Nov. 9, contains the revelation that the eight-time Grand Slam champion used crystal meth in 1997 and lied to tennis authorities when he failed a drug test.
According to an excerpt of the autobiography posted online Tuesday, the eight-time Grand Slam champion writes that he sent a letter to the ATP tour to explain the positive test, saying he accidentally drank from a soda spiked with meth by his assistant “Slim.”
“Then I come to the central lie of the letter. I say that recently I drank accidentally from one of Slim’s spiked sodas, unwittingly ingesting his drugs. I ask for understanding and leniency and hastily sign it: Sincerely,” Agassi writes. “I feel ashamed, of course. I promise myself that this lie is the end of it. The ATP reviewed the case — and threw it out.”
In reality it was “Slim” who introduced the now-retired Agassi to the substance, dumping a small pile of powder on the coffee table, which both snorted:
“I snort some. I ease back on the couch and consider the Rubicon I’ve just crossed,” Agassi writes. “There is a moment of regret, followed by vast sadness. Then comes a tidal wave of euphoria that sweeps away every negative thought in my head. I’ve never felt so alive, so hopeful — and I’ve never felt such energy.”
“I’m seized by a desperate desire to clean. I go tearing around my house, cleaning it from top to bottom. I dust the furniture. I scour the tub. I make the beds.”

From the confines of a page-turning autobiography premiering next month, tennis legend Andre Agassi will reveal that he used crystal meth during his tennis career, according to a publicist for Knopf Publishing House, a division of Random House.

The admission will appear in excerpts of the book that are scheduled to appear in Sports Illustrated and PEOPLE later this week.
“Those excerpts contain revelations about Andre’s use of crystal meth when he was a tennis player,” said Paul Bogaards, director of media relations at Knopf.
The information was first made public this morning on the Twitter page of Sports Illustrated writer Richard Deitsch.
“FYI: There’s an off-the-charts book excerpt from Andre Agassi in the forthcoming SI: He admits to taking crystal meth during his career,” said the message, posted at 10:36 a.m. It was shortly after deleted.

Jodie Sweetin Memoir, ‘unSweetined’ Hits Stores November 3
Posted on 25. Oct, 2009 by CSS.

Jodie Sweetin, who grew up before our eyes playing Stephanie Tanner on Full House, was high on cocaine even at appearances where she claimed to be sober, she says in a new memoir.
The one-time child star comes clean in her new autobiography, unSweetined, recounting nights of endless partying and almost constant drug use. The twice-divorced mother of one is telling the truth about her life outside the spotlight for the first time.
Jodie, then 14, says she had her first glass of wine at the 1996 wedding of Full House co-star Candace Cameron-Bure. The incident, coupled with a rash of bombed auditions, sent young Jodie into a downward spiral of addiction. Even her first marriage to a police officer couldn’t curb the actress’ addiction to meth.
“I did a few key bumps and headed to the lecture hall, where a sold-out crowd waited to hear me speak,” Sweetin writes in the excerpt. “I thought for sure that one of the professors would take one look at me and kick me out. But none did. They wanted to hear about the trials and tribulations of Jodie Sweetin, or at least the Jodie Sweetin I had created,” she continues.
“They didn’t think I was coming from a two-day bender of coke, meth, and ecstasy,” she writes of a speech she gave at Marquette University in Wisconsin. “And they didn’t think I was lying to them with every sentence that came out of my mouth.”
Sweetin, used the money from her appearances to pay for $700 a week habit.
“Even I started believing my own lies,” Jodie explains. “No one grilled me on my sobriety or questioned the facts in my story.”
Her lowest point came when she drove drunk with her infant daughter, Zoie, in the car. “I am not perfect, but perfection does not make a parent. Love does,” the 28-year-old mom writes in a letter to her now 18-month-old daughter.
Jodie is currently embroiled in a bitter custody battle with Zoie’s dad, former husband Cody Herpin.
“Life isn’t like a Full House episode,” Jodie writes. “Uncle Jesse isn’t going to come into that courtroom and convince the judge to rule in my favor by singing a Beach Boys song….But that’s life, and I think I’m finally starting to get it.”
unSweetined hits bookstores Nov. 3. If your interested in pre-ordering you can head on over to Amazon.

Michael Lohan Ready To Name Lindsay Lohan’s Drug Dealer
Posted on 14. Oct, 2009 by CSS.

Lindsay Lohan’s father claims he can identify the person selling the star drugs.
Michael Lohan – who has alleged his actress daughter is addicted to prescription drugs – believes the ‘Mean Girls’ star is being targeted by a man who is aware of her reliance on legal substances.
“This guy follows Lindsay all over the place. All over. Lindsay pays for him to go everywhere. He has no job. He does nothing. All he does is supply everyone in Los Angeles,” Michael — who has a history of drug abuse himself — revealed in an interview with RadarOnline Wednesday.
The born-again Christian has vowed to help Lindsay beat her addiction, telling Radar: “I’m going to get her off the prescription drugs that she’s on. I hate it when people talk about illegal drug abuse because it’s not just drinking and illegal drugs that kill you,” he added.
“Prescription drugs can destroy and kill a person and are sometimes harder to stop. Look at Heath Ledger and Michael Jackson.”
Although he refused to say what medications his 22-year-old daughter is taking, he admitted her addiction has taken over her life.

Sneak Peek: Adam Goldstein ‘DJ AM’ New Series “Gone Too Far”
Posted on 10. Oct, 2009 by CSS.
On Friday, MTV released the first trailer for Gone Too Far, the new docu-drama starring the late DJ AM. AM — (real name Adam Goldstein) — who struggled with an addiction to crack and other substances for more than a decade passed away in August following an accidental drug overdose.
In the video, Adam is seen traveling across the country and meeting with young people battling addiction. Although Adam lost his own battle against drugs, the Goldsteins gave MTV the OK to use the footage.
“After careful consideration we have decided to air the show,” AM’s family explains in a statement. “Adam felt strongly that by doing this series he could help other addicts who were at a crisis point to get sober. Adam was fully aware that if it were not for his own sobriety he never would have achieved the level of success and happiness he had found. Helping people in their recovery was a huge part of Adam’s life. It is our hope through airing this show that people will get to see the side of Adam that we knew and loved, not just the celebrity DJ, but the honest and caring person who gave so much of himself to help others. The decision to air the show has been difficult, but we do this with the profound belief that it will inspire others to seek help.”
Gone Too Far premieres on October 12 on MTV.

Michael Lohan Confirms Lindsay Lohan’s Prescription Drug Problem
Posted on 06. Oct, 2009 by CSS.

Lindsay Lohan’s outspoken father has accused the former child star of harboring a secret addiction to prescription drugs.
This should be good…
The former Disney Golden Girl already has two rehab stints to her name and Michael Lohan says he’s terrified LiLo will suffer the same fate as Michael Jackson and Heath Ledger, who died of drug overdoses.
In an interview with RadarOnline.com, the elder Lohan claims the star is a bonafide addict.
“I’m going to get her off the prescription drugs that she’s on. I hate it when people talk about illegal drug abuse… because it’s not just drinking and illegal drugs that kill you. Prescription drugs can destroy and kill a person and are sometimes harder to stop. Look at Heath Ledger and Michael Jackson,” Michael told Radar.
“You know why Lindsay’s not acting in feature films right now? Because she can’t. Because the girl with all the talent is hidden and buried deep inside this fungus that’s grown because of the prescription drugs. She can’t be herself. When you hug her she’s like, vacant inside. When she kisses or holds me I get chills, and not in a good way – in a bad way,” he adds.
“She’s a different person. I was out there for a week when she was living at the Sunset Marquis Hotel and I would sit there and cry. It was horrible. This was not the kid I raised.”
If Lindsay doesn’t get it together soon her father’s worst fear would likely come true… it’s obvious she needs major help!

Lindsay Lohan Looks Cracked Out At Paris Fashion Week 2009
Posted on 04. Oct, 2009 by CSS.

YIKES!! I don’t think anything further is needed to be said, these photos definitely speak for themselves!

So was Lindsay Lohan’s debut as the creative director of French fashion line Ungaro a fashion hit or miss?
If the word of industry journalist is to be believed- the show was a royal flub!
The fashion gurus at Women’s Wear Daily panned the line’s Spring/Summer 2010 presentation at Paris Fashion Week on Sunday, blasting the new collection comprised largely of barely-there dresses, plunging necklines, and an obsession with all things pink.
“The collection displayed none of the promised younger side Lohan was supposed to deliver.” WWD speficially criticized Lindsay’s “nonskilled” influence on the collection designer, Estrella Archs, 35. “Being a young, pretty, controversial woman who looks good in clothes and photo ops just isn’t enough.”
The Guardian expressed a similar sentiment: “She may not have cut patterns or pinned toiles, but her influence could be seen throughout this collection. Whether this is a good thing is very much open to debate: there were dresses in the collection that one could all too easily believe to have been created by a designer with no experience or training.”
The Kansas City Star dubbed the fleeting line Pasties ‘R Us, writing: “Lohan and Archs held hands and hugged each other as they took to the podium for a post-show bow, drawing a mostly tepid round of applause from the skeptical crowd of fashion journalists and editors…”

DJ AM’s MTV Drug Intervention Series Still Going To Air
Posted on 26. Sep, 2009 by CSS.

MTV is still moving forward with plans to air its intervention-style reality show featuring the late DJ AM, according to Reuters. DJ Adam Goldstein filmed a tough-love style show for drug addicts before he succumbed to his own addiction last month — and MTV is expected to air the footage.
Gone Too Far showcases DJ AM as the once-addicted and now sober guide helping other people through the battles with drug dependencies. The celebrity spinner was believed to have been sober for eleven years before he relapsed. Goldstein was found dead in his NYC apartment last month of an apparent drug overdose.
MTV is likely to air the program and has been in contact with Adam’s family about when an appropriate time would be to do so, there is concern that airing the footage too soon would be perceived as hypocritical or exploitative.
Toxicology results have not been released, but PEOPLE Magazine cites sources claiming the mixmaster had ingested eight OxyContin pills and had a ninth in his mouth when he was found dead.
DJ AM wrapped filming on the show just three days before his death. The series was originally slated to debut on October 5, 2009.

Burt Reynolds In Rehab.
Posted on 17. Sep, 2009 by CSS.

Burt Reynolds has entered rehab.
According to The Insider, the 73-year-old acting legend is seeking treatment for an addiction to drugs and alcohol. The news comes after The National Enquirer published a photo of the iconic star on the grounds of the Hanley Center, a rehab facility in West Palm Beach. The tabloid claims the ladies’ man was found semi-conscious in a pool of blood by an employee at his Florida home and later admitted to a local mental psychiatric hospital.
“After a recent back surgery, Mr. Reynolds felt like he was going through hell and after a while, realized he was a prisoner of prescription pain pills,” the star’s rep said in a statement Wednesday afternoon. “He checked himself into rehab in order to regain control of his life.”
