Brooks will performs five weekend shows at the Encore Theater beginning on December 11 and running until the end of February.

The specific dates are: 11-13 December, 1-3 January, 22-24 January, 12-14 February and 26-28 February. More weekend dates at the Wynn will be announced in the coming weeks as part of a five-year deal with casino boss Steve Wynn. The weekend shows will consist of one Friday, two on Saturday and another on Sunday.

Wearing his familiar black cowboy hat, Garth announced his Vegas residency alongside resort owner Steve Wynn during a press conference Thursday.

“I am naturally nervous, but it feels good to be out from under the low ceiling of retirement I put on myself,” he said. Brooks officially retired in 2001, saying he would devote himself to his three daughters at his home in Owasso, Oklahoma, until his youngest turned 18. She is now 13.

Wynn is providing a private jet for Brooks to commute from his Oklahoma home, where he lives with his three daughters and his wife, singer Trisha Yearwood, to Vegas.

“When Steve Wynn approached me about playing, he did something different than anybody else had. He didn’t throw money at me… Every argument you ever had of why you didn’t do this, he had an answer for.”

The 1,602-seat Encore Theater has not had a permanent headliner since the death of comedian Danny Gans from a combination of prescription painkillers and a heart condition in May.

The satirical television comedy — which airs Wednesday nights on FOX — is in the preliminary stages of being transformed into a live stage production. While there is still no official confirmation, a traveling stage production inspired by the TV musical could debut as early as Spring 2010, Glee creator Ryan Murphy told Entertainment Weekly on Monday.

Amy Winehouse told booing fans to “f*** off” as she cut short her comeback concert in the Caribbean.

The star, 25, also flashed her knickers, stumbled on stage, and even appeared to forget lyrics.

It all went down on Friday, as Amy was appearing at the St Lucia Jazz Festival “as a thank you to an island and people that have been so welcoming” to her.

On Saturday, her spokesman released a statement saying Amy was “disappointed” at abandoning her performance but blamed the stormy weather. He said rain pounding the stage caused lighting and sound equipment to fail.

“Amy and the band tried to soldier on but the set had to be cut short. Amy is very disappointed as St. Lucia has been wonderful to her and its people have welcomed her with open arms, but circumstances beyond anyone’s control meant that this special show did not go as planned,” the statement read.

But concertgoers who were on-hand for the Grammy winner’s shaky performance tell a different story.

In an interview with the BBC, one shocked fan said: “She seemed virtually asleep at one point while sitting at the front of the stage with her eyes closed. It was weird, she kept taking her shoes on and off. At other times she stopped singing. The audience started booing and she yelled f*** off at least twice.”

Having just watched the video below documenting her night-it is quite obvious ‘Rain’ was not the issue:
