Madonna Really Knows How To Rack Up A Hotel Bill, To The Tune Of $1Mill!!

Madonna and 200 of her backup singers, dancers, and other support staff blew $1 million living in luxury at a hotel in Argentina last week.
The Material Mom splashed out seven figures at the exclusive Four Seasons resort in Buenos Aires, while she performed a string of gigs in the city as part of the South American leg of her “Sticky & Sweet Tour.”
The entourage rented 110 rooms at a minimum of $600 each.
“When they check out on Tuesday, with room service and extras the bill will top $1 million. This is the finest hotel in South America, offering every luxury you could possibly imagine, and it doesn’t come cheap,” a hotel source revealed to Ireland’s Sunday World.
“We’ve had some pop stars and presidents before, but nothing quite like this.”

It's Official: Angelina Jolie Highest Paid Actress.

Angelina Jolie has just beat out Reese Witherspoon as the highest paid actress in the world. As if she didn’t already have enough going for her. Angelia rakes in more than $15 million a movie, according to Us Weekly, while her films brought in over $1 billion worldwide last year. So it sounds like she’s a pretty good investment.
Angelina Jolie has topped the Hollywood Reporter’s list of the highest-paid actresses.
Jolie, whose 2008 movies earned nearly $1 billion worldwide, commands more than $15 million a movie, followed by Julia Roberts and last year’s top earner, Reese Witherspoon.
(The actress recently replaced Tom Cruise in the espionage thriller Edwin A. Salt. Shooting begins in February.)
Meanwhile, Jolie ranked No. 24 on The Hollywood Reporter’s Women in Entertainment: Power 100 list.

The best thing about Angelina, in my not-so-humble opinion, is the amount of money she and Brad Pitt have given away to charity. They recently donated $100,000 to Global Action for Children, and encouraged others to do the same. The pair have consistently given money to worthy causes, especially those supporting kids.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s Jolie-Pitt Foundation donated $100,000 to Global Action for Children, it was reported Thursday.
“With the holiday season upon us, we hope the generous gift from the Jolie-Pitt Foundation inspires others to give and focus on assisting orphans and highly vulnerable children around the world,” the charity’s executive director, Jennifer Delaney, said in a statement. “Each and every donation can truly make a difference in the life of a child.”
In 2006, the couple – who are parents to three adopted children – donated $1 million to the GAC. According to tax filings, they donated more than $8 million to various charities through their foundation that year.
“GAC is honored to receive a second grant from the Jolie-Pitt Foundation, and we greatly appreciate the Jolie-Pitt Family’s continued commitment to and support of our work,” Delaney added.

Brad and Angelina have received a fair amount of criticism for all their donations, with a lot of people claiming they just do it for attention. If that’s the case, there’s a lot worse things they could do to get people to notice them. I have yet to see Angelina forget to wear her underpants or Brad beat up a paparazzo. If helping other people gets you some attention, then right on.

I feel inferior to people like Paris Hilton & Britney Spears. You know why, right? When the newly announced Visa Black Card launches, I am not going to be eligible to get one. Paris Hilton, Miley Cyrus (when she turns 18), Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears will get one with no problem. Why? Because only the top 1% of the wealthiest US population is eligible for the card.
So while Barack Obama may be giving us middle class people a tax cut, and raising taxes on the top 1% – there is a consolation prize for those rich celebrities. Barclays is giving the top 1% (many of whom are celebrities) access to their custom carbon graphite credit card which should help make them feel special… and better than the rest of us.

Luke Perry Requesting $40,000 To Reprise Role As Dylan McKay On '90210'

Dylan McKay maybe “Kelly’s baby daddy” on The CW’s modern-day revival of Beverly Hills, 90210, but producers behind the primetime soap will have to fork over a few more fistfuls of cash if they ever hope to get Dylan’s original alter ego, actor Luke Perry, back on the small screen.
If the National Enquirer is to be believed, Luke was recently offered a $15,000 contract to make a one-time guest appearance on the new 90210. He turned down the gig. Instead Luke, who turned in an impressive performance as a guest star on Law & Order: SVU earlier this year, is asking for the same gig the network is giving recurring star Shannen Doherty, who famously feuded with Luke-and everyone else-on the original series.
He wants $40,000 per episode, but head honchos at The CW say “fat chance” of that happening.
When producers balked, Luke suggested:
“Kill off my character…or find a new face to play me.”
I gotta say If I were in Luke’s shoes I would be doing the exact same thing!

Christian Sirano Lands Payless ShoeSource Deal.

Project Runway 4 winner Christian Sirano has teamed up with Payless ShoeSource to create the Christian Siriano for Payless line, a fashion-forward collection of footwear and handbags.
“I’m so excited to design and create with such an amazing brand that is all about fashion and trend but, most importantly, is also about affordability,” Christian said in a statement Monday. “I’ve already been working with the Payless Design Team in New York, and I can’t wait to see how they will take the high- end shoes and bags I’m designing for the runway and turn them into pieces that everyone can buy. I’m all about the runway and the sidewalks!”
The collection will be unveiled New York Fashion Week next February, before becoming available in Payless stores and Payless.com in the Fall of 2009. The designs are expected to range in price from $25 – $45.
“Christian is among the next great American fashion designers, and we are thrilled to continue to expand the Payless Designer Collections and to add Christian as our newest designer partner,” said LuAnn Via, president and chief executive officer of Payless ShoeSource. “His talent, experience and personality provide a winning combination, and we are excited to see his designs come alive on the runway next February and to bring them to shoppers across America next fall season.”

Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz could receive $2 million for the first public pictures of their newborn son.
The young couple, who welcomed their first son Bronx Mowgli Wentz last week, are expected to receive seven figures for the tot’s photographic world premiere.
“I see Ashlee and Pete coming in at the low seven figures mark,” says Hollywood publicist Howard Bragman. “Two million seems like a good, solid figure for Ashlee and Pete. It’s a two-celeb couple, so that’s a boost for them.”
“….Ashlee was the girl who sang along to the tape recorder. It was a PR nightmare. Now, she’s a newlywed and a new mom, so she’s a lot more relatable.”

As Sarah Palin inches closer to inking a book deal, literary experts predict the self-proclaimed “Hockey Mom” could earn approximately $7 million for spilling her life story on the pages of an autobiography.
“Bill Clinton made more than $10 million when he signed his deal in 2001 and that was the most for a former president, Sarah brings something different to the table — there is so much curiosity surrounding her and her life. If they move fast and get this thing on shelves, then a $7 million advance could be worth it.”

Hilary Duff Inks NBC TV Deal.

Hilary Duff, who got her big break in showbiz playing a fashion-forward teenager on Disney’s Lizzie McGuire, is making a return to television.
The young star has inked a one-year, exclusive talent and development deal to star in her own series for NBC.
“Hilary is an incredibly versatile talent with a huge following whose career we know will continue to soar on NBC,” Teri Weinberg, executive vice president for NBC Entertainment, said Friday. “We are confident we will develop great ideas that would feature her vast talents and are thrilled to have this opportunity.”
I have always enjoyed watching Hilary- hopefully whatever format they come up with for her will be entertaining….The deal she made with NBC also has her guest appearing on other NBC shows- do I smell a ‘30 Rock’ appearance in her future???
