Michael Jackson was nominated for the Artist of the Year Award at the 2009 American Music Awards, as Paula Abdul, Adam Lambert, and Snoop Dogg announced the nominees for this year’s ceremony in a live press conference from Los Angeles early Tuesday.
The King of Pop also picked up four additional noms for his 2003 Greatest Hits Collection. In all, the music icon, who passed away in June, is up for Artist of the Year, Pop Rock Male, Pop Rock Album, R&B/Soul Male and R&B/Soul Album. Lauren Conrads Book “L.A. Candy” Movie Rights Purchased By “Twilight” Producers
Posted on 01. Oct, 2009 by CSS.

Lauren Conrad’s bestselling semi-autobiographical debut novel is being adapted for the big screen, Variety reported Tuesday.
Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey, executive producers of Twilight, have purchased the film rights to the book through their Temple Hill company. Lauren is expected to serve as an executive producer.
L.A. Candy was inspired by the socialite’s experiences as star of the popular MTV docudrama. It follows 19-year-old Jane Roberts from her arrival in Hollywood through the height of her fame as a reality TV star. Lauren is set to pen two more books featuring Jane under the Harper-Collins imprint.
“Lauren, who became an icon in that reality show world, came to us with a structure of how to tell the story in an interesting fashion that was separate and apart from the book,” Bowen told Variety Tuesday. “We loved her take. Her book is an honest portrayal of what it must be like to set out to be normal, then sign on to become famous and eventually realize, wow, this isn’t at all what I’d planned for myself.”

Word on the Snitch Circuit claims Audrina Patridge, Lauren “Lo” Bosworth, and Heidi Montag are all earning $100,000 an episode, just $25,000 less than Lauren Conrad, who departed the show last summer.

American Idol Season 8 runner-up Adam Lambert won’t release his debut album until Nov. 24, nonetheless, the LP managed to land to the No. 2 spot on the Amazon.com sales list Monday, ahead of The Beatles, Susan Boyle, and Madonna’s Greatest Hits, The New York Post reports.
Lambert’s pre-order sales figures are even more impressive because his label, RCA, made no announcement that the disc — featuring production by RedOne and Ryan Tedder — could be pre-ordered. Thankfully, Lambert dropped several hints on Twitter last week.

Marc Anthony Part-Owner Miami Dolphins
Posted on 22. Jul, 2009 by CSS.

Jennifer Lopez and her salsa-singing hubby Marc Anthony held up Miami Dolphins jerseys with their names and birth dates inscripted during a news conference in New York City Tuesday, announcing his minority ownership in the team.
“I could quite possibly be staring at the first day of the rest of my life,” Anthony said in a news conference in New York. “That’s quite exciting at this stage of the game. I’m a little nervous. I’d rather sing. That’s much easier to me?..It’s a storied franchise, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I’m going to try to make it to my seat because my knees are a little weak.”
“I’m a huge sports fan,” the 40-year-old star remarked in an interview with PEOPLE this morning. “These opportunities don’t come around too often. It’s quite an honor and a privilege to be able to sit here today saying that I’m a part-owner of an NFL team.”
The Dolphins went from a dismal 1-15 record in 2007 to 11-5 and the 2008 AFC East Championship, before losing to the Baltimore Ravens in the playoffs.
