Mock Memoir On Sarah Palin, ‘Going Rogue: An American Nightmare’ Set To Release Same Day As Her Memoir, ‘Going Rogue: An American Life’
Posted on 27. Oct, 2009 by CSS.

A parody of former Republican Vice-Presidential candidate Sarah Palin’s eagerly-awaited memoir is set to be released the same day her real autobiography hits booksellers’ shelves next month.
With a nearly identical cover photo, Going Rouge: An American Nightmare looks strikingly similar to the planned cover of the Alaska governor’s Going Rogue: An American Life.
The mock memoir, compiled by the left-wing editors of Nation Magazine, “examines Palin’s quirky origins in Wasilla, Alaska, her spectacular rise to the effective leadership of the Republican Party, and the nightmarish prospect of her continuing to dominate the nation?s political scene,” OR Books said on its website.
Palin’s memoir, published by HarperCollins, has an initial print run set at 1.5 million copies, and is an early bestseller on Amazon.com.
Both books are set for release on November 17.

Alana Stewart To Publish Farrah fawcett Cancer Diary, "My Journey With Farrah"
Posted on 22. Jul, 2009 by CSS.

Alana Stewart, Farrah Fawcett’s best friend of more than 30 years, is publishing a diary she kept of the late actress’ battle with cancer.
The iconic pin-up model and star of the ’70s series Charlie’s Angels died June 25 after a lengthy fight against anal cancer. She was 62.
My Journey With Farrah will be released through publisher William Morrow, an imprint of HarperCollins, in August. Some of the proceeds will be donated to the Farrah Fawcett Foundation for cancer research.
The book will contain never-before-seen photos and deeply intimate revelations on life and spirituality.
“When the idea to do this book was presented to me, I thought long and hard about it,” the former wife of rocker Rod Stewart said of her decision Monday.
“In fact, I agonized over the decision. Now, was I doing the right thing by sharing many of our private moments? Farrah had originally encouraged me to write this book. It was her idea. However, while I was contemplating my decision, her health took a turn for the worse, and I could no longer seek her advice. So I turned to Ryan O’Neal. He was so positive and so supportive. ‘You have to do it’, he said emphatically. ‘There will be lots of people writing books about her. Yours will be the truth, and it will be a wonderful tribute to her. You have to do it!’ My hope is that people will find this book to be a heartfelt tribute to my friend of 30 years and her valiant fight against cancer. I also hope that it will be helpful and supportive to all of those people who have loved and cared for someone close to them with a lingering illness. I realized while I was putting it together that it was a way of keeping Farrah’s memory alive, not only for me but for everyone who reads this book.”

The Sarah Palin’s life story is on its way to a bookseller’s shelf near you.
The Alaska governor and former GOP Vice-Presidential candidate has signed on with HarperCollins to publish a memoir about her childhood in Alaska and the political career that thrust her into the spotlight during last year’s vice-presidential campaign.
“In fairness to my family, this is going be a good opportunity for them, too, because there have been so many misperceptions out there about who we are and what we believe in, and I’m excited to get to put my journalism degree to work and tell my story as it relates to my family,” Gov. Palin told The Associated Press on Tuesday.
Sarah Palin’s memoir is due out in spring 2010.

Hulk Hogan Tell-All Book
Posted on 22. Mar, 2009 by CSS.
Just in case you didn’t have a big enough window into The Wonderful World of the Hogan’s on their VH1 reality series, wrestling legend Terry Bollea, perhaps best known as Hulk Hogan, has inked a six-figure deal with St. Martin’s Press to pen an account of his life.
According to veteran celebrity snitch Cindy Adams, the 320 page memoir–with a 16-page color photo insert–will cover The Hulk’s humble beginnings as a boy growing up in Tampa, his two-decade marriage to Lina Bollea, and of course, his career as a 12-time World Heavyweight Champ and six-time World Wrestling Federation Champ.
Perhaps most notably, Hulk will discuss his son Nick’s near-fatal car crash that left a young Marine brain-dead. The Hogan’s conduct in the wake of the crash left the family open to public scorn.
Here’s an excerpt from page 52 of the memoir:
“I grasped the side of the car with my hands when I finally saw Nick my only son folded up like an accordion with his head down by the gas pedal. I could see he was alive . . . for a second I was relieved. Then the chaos set in. The noise of engines and sirens. A saw. Paramedics pulling his friend John from the seat. So much blood. I can’t describe how panicked I was. The police and firefighters surrounding us seemed panicked, too. The firefighters started cutting the side of the car open. I’m still standing there when I hear my boy screaming, ‘No, no, no, stop! Stop! You’re gonna cut my legs off. Dad! Just unbuckle the seat belt . . . !’ So I reach in and I push the button on his seat belt, and Nick crawls out.”
“But not John. John wasn’t moving.”
Hulk Hogan’s autobiography goes on sale Oct. 27.
My only guess is that with the release of his tell-all, the never to be out done Linda Hogan’s won’t be far behind!!

Lauren Conrad's New Book "L.A. Candy"
Posted on 03. Mar, 2009 by CSS.
Lauren Conrad will release her debut novel later this year. L.A. Candy, the first in a series of three young adult novels the MTV reality personality is writing for HarperCollins, is all set to arrive on booksellers’ shelves June 16.
The trilogy will follow the adventures of a teenage girl who unexpectedly becomes the subject of a popular unscripted series after moving to Los Angeles. Sound familiar? It should, the L.A. Candy series is loosely based on Lauren’s life as star of MTV’s Laguna Beach and later the wildly-successful The Hills.
In an entry on her Official MySpace BlogMonday, The Hills star wrote:
The books will be loosely inspired by my own experience and are definitely influenced by my own life. Some of the characters may symbolize people in my life, but it is in no way calling anyone out…I’ve always loved books that I could lose myself in, ones that would transport me to another place, but had characters I could relate to. So, I’m so excited to have this opportunity to write books like that for other readers.
