Watching the CMA Announcements!
Nominees for the 2009 CMAs were annnounced Wednesday and Taylor Swift was nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year, Music Video of the Year, Album of the Year, and the highest honor of the night — Entertainer of the Year.
The 19-year-old sensation’s nod is the first time that a solo female artist has been nominated in the top competition since Faith Hill took the win in 2000.
She competes against Kenny Chesney, George Strait, Brad Paisley, and tour mate Keith Urban.
The 43rd Annual CMA Awards will broadcast live from Nashville, Nov. 11 at 8:00 PM ET on ABC.

Janet Jackson 2009 VMA’s Dance Tribute To Michael Jackson

Janet Jackson is planning a dance tribute to her late brother, The King of Pop Michael Jackson, at next weekend’s 26th annual MTV Video Music Awards, according to reports.
Janet and a group of 20 backup dancers are working with world-renowned choreographers like Frank Gatson and Travis Payne on a stage spectacular in Michael’s honor, set for Sunday, Sept. 13 live from Radio City Music Hall in New York.
In 1995, Michael and Janet took home a VMA Moonman for their video collabo “Scream.”

Matt Damon Receiving American Cinematheque Award

According to Variety, the 38-year-old star will be presented with the American Cinematheque Award at a ceremony to be broadcast on AMC next March.
Damon launched his career with the 1997 hit Good Will Hunting, which he co-wrote with pal Ben Affleck. The pair won a Best Screenplay Oscar for their work.
Previous recipients of the award include Julia Roberts, Al Pacino, George Clooney and Samuel L. Jackson.

Twin fashionistas Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen will be inducted into the Council of Fashion Designers of America this fall.
The sisters have been recognized by the exclusive organization for their contributions to American fashion through their labels, The Row and the Elizabeth and James collection, named after their younger brother and sister.
Mary Kate & Ashley will join fellow big name designers Alexander Wang, Jason Wu, and Maria Pinto when they are welcomed as new members of the CFDA in a dinner at Manhattan’s Four Seasons Restaurant on October 21, British Elle announced Tuesday.
Acclaimed designer Diane von Furstenberg, who is CFDA President, will host the affair.

Looks like someone’s taken one too many hits from the peace pipe….Twilight actress Kristen Stewart dropped her Golden Popcorn trophy for Best Female Performance during an awkward acceptance at Sunday night’s MTV Movie Awards.
In fact, Twilight was the big winner of the 2009 MTV Movie Awards, with the cast and crew accepting popcorn prizes for all of the categories of which they were nominated.
