lohan canned www.hometownhollywood.com record label dropped

Is Lindsay Lohan’s career in fashion a labor of love? Earlier this month, Lindsay earned the position as an artistic advisor to fashion house Emanuel Ungaro — an honor later dimmed by poor reviews of her first collection for the line with designer Estrella Archs at Paris Spring/Summer 2010 Fashion Week.

But according to FOX News, free clothes may be Lindsay’s only payment for the prestigious gig.

“Ungaro is not paying her at all to be a consultant for them,”
a source reportedly close to Lindsay told FOX’s 411 Blog on Friday. “Her team is working to get Lindsay some form of payment from the fashion house, but right now they will only give her free clothes.”

However, in an interview with Times of London on Sunday, Emanuel Ungaro CEO Mounir Moufarrige insisted Linds is being paid “quite enough” for her new position.

“It’s expensive,” he said.

A second source claims recording has been suspended on the star’s long-delayed third album.

“Casablanca [Records] has suspended all further recording sessions of her album and put their working relationship with her on hold,” the tattling tipster told FOX. “Lindsay was committed to making music and has been working on it for 16 months. She is going to go what she can to keep her music career going.”

hills season 6 salaries www.hometownhollywood.com kristin cavallari

Even in a recession, it pays to be a member of The Hills.

According to a report featured on The Daily Beast Monday, the central characters on the reality docudrama will earn $100,000 an episode during the show’s sixth season, premiering tonight on MTV.

Word on the Snitch Circuit claims Audrina Patridge, Lauren “Lo” Bosworth, and Heidi Montag are all earning $100,000 an episode, just $25,000 less than Lauren Conrad, who departed the show last summer.

Ex-Laguna Beach star Kristin Cavallari, who will replace Lauren on the show, brings home $90,000 per episode. Bad Boy rapper wannabe Spencer Pratt is earning just $65,000 an episode. (Guess we know who wears the pants in this family!!) Former Bromance star Brody Jenner earns just $45,000 per show.

This is a dramatic increase in salaries from two seasons ago-check it out:

Reformed party girl Tara Reid is so desperate for a career comeback that she has been ringing producers of Dancing With The Stars with an offer to do the ABC ballroom reality series for free.

Over the years, the often-unemployed actress has consistently lobbied producers to let her do the show, but they’ve turned her down each year. Now that she’s apparently clean and sober after a stint in rehab late last year, Tara she feels that DWTS is her best chance to promote herself.

“Tara wants a comeback. She’s willing to forego a paycheque for publicity.”

I gotta admit- if she were to appear on that program, there is a slim chance it could actually help get her career moving again!

The Pussycat Dolls can’t be expected to perform for anything less than $30,000.

The pop burlesque troupe, who are slated to tour Australia next month, turned down the offer to perform at four afterparties at clubs in the country’s capital city because the proposed appearance salary was not up to their standards.

According to The Daily Telegraph, a rep for the “Jai Ho” stars insist the band is worth more than the amount they were offered.

One thing is definitely true in the music industry: fame is fleeting! I would take what I could when I could if I were them!

"Law & Order: SVU" Contract Disputes With Chris Meloni & Mariska Hargitay

mariska-chris nbc negotiations www.hometownhollywood.com l&O

Oh no! NBC is threatening to replace Mariska Hargitay and Chris Meloni on the beloved crime drama Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, industry insiders revealed to MSNBC on Wednesday. We hear the stars have become locked in a bitter contract dispute with the network after demanding a raise; Meloni and Hargitay already earn $350,000 per episode for their roles as Manhattan’s SVU crime fighting twosome Benson and Stabler.

MSNBC wrote on Wednesday:

Last week, NBC closed a deal with L&O boss Dick Wolf for an 11th season of “SVU” — which, at 10.5 million viewers, remains the Peacock’s No. 1 scripted show. That opened the door to a new round of negotiations with the stars, whose $350K-per-episode contracts will expire in May. Yet a source close to the matter said talks stalled when the duo — who, like in their previous negotiations, are banding together — attempted to go after back-end profits, a perk that’s almost never granted in the L&O universe (although exceptions were made for Vincent D’Onofrio and Chris Noth).

Television tattles doubt SVU producers will make good on their threat to drop the show’s two lead actors, particularly since the Benson and Stabler characters’ chemistry has an intricate subplot of the show.

“I don’t think in this environment, there’s any chance they could re-launch the show with both of them gone,”
says a high-ranking exec at a rival network. “It’s a horrible time to retool a show. They already have to change the time-slot, because it’s not going to be airing at 10 pm next season….”

The Ladies Of 'The View' Looking To Score Major Raise!

the-view co host want raise www.hometownhollywood.com

There is a long list of things I’d rather do than watch the shrieking ladies of “The View.” Gum surgery, Chinese water torture, a Celine Dion concert…the list goes on and on. But plenty of other people are watching the show, because its ratings are higher than ever. That’s why the co-hosts of the show – Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sherri Shepherd and Elisabeth Hasselbeck – are asking for a raise. And of course, they’re going straight to the show’s executive producer and co-star, Barbara Walters, with their demands.

Ratings for “The View” have gone through the roof- and so have the co-hosts’ salary demands!

Although the show’s boss Barbara Walters is thrilled that her 12-year-old production is on the rise, set insiders tell The Enquirer that she’s suddenly found herself with “a mutiny on her hands.” Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sherri Shepherd and Elisabeth Hasselbeck all believe they should be generously rewarded for the newfound success.

Demands from the stars’ agents began pouring into Barbara’s office in early March when Nielsen statistics reported “The View” – which often ranked 10th or lower among daytime programs – climbed to No. 2 among women aged 18-49, says the insider.

The sudden ratings boom is being attributed to Barbara’s decision to expand the “hot topics” segment, about the day’s headlines, which now accounts for half the show. “The View” is now enjoying its most-watched season ever, averaging 4.2 million viewers – up from 2.5 million a year ago.

“Barbara should be beaming because of the show’s recent success, but she’s furious that the other women have been pestering her for a bigger piece of the pie,” says the insider.

“Barbara thinks their new salary demands are outrageous – some are asking for several million dollars – and she told one confidant, “They should all be ashamed of themselves – I’ve never seen such a greedier bunch.’”

-From The National Enquirer

Oh, come on. As long as Barbara’s been around at ABC, I’m sure she’s seen a greedier bunch. And I’m sure Barbara is making a nice chunk of change as the show’s executive producer.

Why wouldn’t she do the smart thing and keep her co-stars happy? As much as I can’t stand the show, they must be doing something to appeal to the viewers who like them. I suppose some people actually enjoy watching five women sitting around a table screaming and talking over each other.  But the chemistry – or, more accurately, the tension – between the co-hosts must be what’s getting the ratings.

Or does Barbara think everyone tunes in to watch her?
