MLB slugger Alex Rodriguez tested positive for steroids during his MVP season with Texas, Sports Illustrated revealed on Saturday.
A-Rod tested positive for two anabolic steroids in 2003, four independent sources tell S.I. The third baseman was traded to the New York Yankees a year later.
“I’m not saying anything,” Alex told reporters when asked about the news on Thursday. “You’ll have to talk to the union.”
Here’s my major question why in the world did it take six years for this to come out?
I heard one news story on MSNBC this evening describing the story as sending ’shockwaves’ through the baseball community. I gotta laugh at that, steroid use in baseball is not exactly ’shocking’ it’s pretty much assumed unless proven otherwise.
